IT staffers may have compromised sensitive data to foreign intelligence

By Paul Sperry
New York Post
August 19, 2017 | 9:13pm

Federal authorities are investigating whether sensitive data was stolen from congressional offices by several Pakistani-American tech staffers and sold to Pakistani or Russian intelligence, knowledgeable sources say.

What started out 16 months ago as a scandal involving the alleged theft of computer equipment from Congress has turned into a national-security investigation involving FBI surveillance of the suspects.

Investigators now suspect that sensitive US government data — possibly including classified information — could have been compromised and may have been sold to hostile foreign governments that could use it to blackmail members of Congress or even put their lives at risk.

“This is a massive, massive scandal,” a senior US official familiar with the widening probe told The Post.

In other words, US Intelligence services are in the practice of obtaining information about members of congress that is so compromising it could be used to blackmail them.

But of course, members of the US Intelligence services would never actually do any blackmailing themselves. But that begs the question of why the services would be holding on to such information in the first place.

If some Dem congresscritters succumbed to blackmail and cooperated with the Russkies or ISIS or Paki intel (passing classified info, furthering espionage, passing classified info, etc.), this could be a gold mine.

I'd love to see Maxine Waters on trial for actual treason as a result of cooperating with blackmailers.

Chances are these Pakis sold every document on the network to the highest bidders and compiled extensive dossiers on all of the Dems.

Blame it on Trump and the Russians.

It just amazes me how demoncrats are never put in jail.

Both Clintons, Schulz, Lerner, Holder, Lynch and Obama should already be in jail. What else does one have to do to go to jail? Murder someone in public with multiple videos from different angles?

Obama's reign has been one of the most corrupt in history!

Don't worry MSM will find a way to twist it and put the blame on Trump!

The oly thing I wish trump would do is take the reins of the justice department and set them on the govenrment!

Why was Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz keeping him on the payroll and guarding access to that laptop?

This could be a grenade with the pin falling out if it is connected directly or indirectly to knowledge of a DNC leaker to Wikileaks.

Julian Assange appears to want to leave his embassy prison and may deal DNC destroying information for immunity.

Steve Bannon and Breitbart would be the megaphone controlling when and what is shouted out to the world.

It may be an interesting few months coming up, depending on what Assange may provide and what the investigation of the Awans may turn up.

Lose control of the Justice Department/FBI.

That's a damned good question. Maybe it's time to convene another special counsel just to investigate that.

Well gee, how do you think J. Edgar Hoover, with his files, stayed in office so long?
