Opinions/Editorials Title: Trump Speech to Scouts Draws Ire of “Fake News” Media The infamous “swamp” and its “fake news” media organs were foaming at the mouth after President Donald Trump's Monday speech at the National Scout Jamboree. From fury over Trump's defense of “Merry Christmas,” to manufactured outrage about the president's alleged politicking in front of children, the establishment press was in full meltdown mode as anti-Trump hysteria masquerading as “news” flooded the wires. No doubt the swipe against ObamaCare or the half a dozen references to God annoyed the press, too. Perhaps what most infuriated the swamp and its increasingly discredited “mainstream” media, though, were Trump's repeated jabs at their never-ending stream of “fake news” and “fake polls.” It does seem like Trump at least intended to avoid politics during his speech to the Scouts. “Tonight we put aside all of the policy fights in Washington, D.C. you've been hearing about with the fake news and all of that,” he said in his opening. “We're going to put that aside. And instead we're going to talk about success, about how all of you amazing young Scouts can achieve your dreams, what to think of, what I've been thinking about. You want to achieve your dreams, I said, who the hell wants to speak about politics when I'm in front of the Boy Scouts? Right?” And indeed, aside from some apparently non-scripted remarks when he looked away from his teleprompter, Trump mostly avoided politics. Poster Comment: Newman is more laudator than reporter. Trump did pump up the crowd, though, with a semi-campaign speech. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Begin Trace Mode for Comment # 6. #3. To: paraclete (#2) What an idiot! Trump's great. He is leading the country in a new and better direction. the idiots are the Republicans in Congress who are hellbent on losing their majority by not doing what they were elected to do.

Seems to me you are blaming the wrong people, seems there is an obstructionist Senate, isn't there always an obstructionist Senate, or an obstructionist House, and here we have the self proclaimed Dealer in Chief who just can't get it done because politicians don't speak bully. What happened is Trump didn't articulate vision, building a wall is not a great vision of the future, ditching trade treaties is not a great vision of the future, and beating ISIS any army worth it salt could do that if they weren't asked to do it with both arms tied behind their back, even the Iraqis have done it
#5. To: paraclete (#4) (Edited) Seems to me you are blaming the wrong people Seems to me I am blaming EXACTLY the right people: Republican lawmakers, for being the lying shitstains they are. Seems to me that you're trying to cover for them yet again. They always have their defenders. And you will probably prevail too. Republican voters are SUCH fools and rubes that they will be duped again. They're Charlie Brown, and the GOP is Lucy. She always pulls the football, always, every time, and Charlie Brown is too retarded to ever figure it out. Lucy is the Republican politicians. Charlie is the Republican voters.

I'm not here to cover for anyone, I'm not interested in assigning characters from an old comic strip, there are many visualisations to the US political process, Starwars, Startrek, the Avengers and we see it over and over again, the internal wranglings, the civil wars, the evil emperor playing both sides, the runaway military, overshadowed by the UN
