-- Title: Teacher put on leave after reports a student’s mouth was taped shut GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. -- The Cherry Creek School District is investigating reports that a teacher at Campus Middle School either taped a student's mouth shut or allowed other students to do so. The incident allegedly occurred during class on Wednesday, April 26. District officials told FOX31 Denver hey only learned about the allegations on Monday, May 1. "As soon as we learned of the allegations, we notified the Greenwood Village Police Department," Tustin Amole, the Director of Communications for CCSD, said in a statement. Amole said the district also notified the student’s parents, who she said were unaware of the incident. "We are continuing to investigate, as we have received conflicting reports of what happened," Amole stated. The teacher was not in class Monday and will be placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, according to Amole. The teacher's name was not released. "The incident is deeply troubling and does not reflect the values of the Cherry Creek School District," Amole stated. "We are committed to ensuring that our schools provide a safe and caring environment for all students." I have no doubt that special little snowflake never had a sock stuffed it it at his parents home, and that's why the little SOB has no manners now. "Special little snowflake" you call them? If their parents had been doing this, the kid would be taken away from them by social services. And the teacher doing this or allowing the students to participate in doing this act, needs to be investigated. That teacher needs to be fired! Teachers cannot hit their students, tape their mouths, or touch in inappropriate ways. If that child was out of control or misbehaving the teacher should have sent the child to the principal's office to be dealt with. But taking matters into their own hands makes them criminally liable.

And you must be a shithead from the 70's that thinks using that time to have your personal little hissy-fit is more important than using that time to actually educate the other students. To: sneakypete (#5) Educating children is one thing but resorting to forms of personal mockery and such abuse at hitting them is not my style. I don't believe in hitting children at all. If a child is acting up or being disruptive in the classroom, either make attempts to communicate with them verbally or send them to the principal's office.

To: sneakypete (#1) (Edited) Why the uproar over tape? I could see it if she had used staples, but tape? I recall when I was in seventh or eighth grade, a boy in our class was kinda mouthy to the science teacher. And she would get very annoyed if any of us were slouching in our seats. Posture was her pet peeve. Well, this kid was a world-class sloucher. So she had a board in the office and some rope. As she lectured us all on the importance of good posture, she first tied that board to the kid's back to force him to sit straight. Then she tied the board to the seat back of the desk. When she got done, there was no slouching left for him to do. After that day, she only had to tell him that his posture was poor and he'd straighten right up. He did, of course, still slouch in other classes. He grew up to some kind of druggie with bad posture, a classic PK. My dad once told me of a kid in his class that mouthed off to the shop teacher one day. The shop teacher was a very tiny man but he just walked up, grabbed him by the lapels and slapped him hard across the face 30-40 times while telling him and the rest of the class that he would tolerate no backtalk and no disrespect from them. No more mouthiness in shop class by anyone. My dad still laughed about it 50 years later.
