International News Title: Egypt: U.S. Troops Watch Islamic Terrorists Slaughter Christians Egypt continues struggling in fighting against Islamic terrorism, with many jihadist attacks focused on Christians. Yet even as U.S. troops are stationed in the Sinai Peninsula, they do not assist Egyptian forces and instead watch the slaughter of Christians. Furthermore, no one has demanded that they stop the violence. And no one has accused the U.S. of being morally irresponsible for doing nothing. There’s a reason for this lack of action. But the lack of action also demonstrates how the U.S. has no obligation to stop every problem in the world — and that it has no desire to do so when Christians are the victims. Back in 2013, I forecasted that the U.S. intervening in Syria would result in increased jihadist activity in Egypt. That has long since occurred. And while the jihadists target many different people, they have targeted Christians with a significant amount of attacks. U.S. troops make up a large portion of the Multinational Force & Observers in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula. They are close to most of the attacks that are occurring. But they don’t do a thing to stop Islamic terrorists from slaughtering Christians. The reason the U.S. troops don’t stop the slaughter of Christians in Egypt is because the legal authority of the MFO forbids it. The MFO is in place to keep the peace between the Egyptians and Israelis, and it has no authority to conduct any activity in Egypt outside narrowly defined ones. And those narrowly defined activities do not include assisting with Egyptian internal security or war operations. Nevertheless, stop and think about the situation from a modern perspective. How often do we hear that the U.S. has a so-called moral obligation to intervene in this or that country—to stop the persecution or alleged genocide of this or that people? How often do you hear ruling elites claim the U.S. has a moral obligation to intervene in Syria, Libya, or someplace else? Now apply that thinking to Egypt. Why is no one crying about a moral obligation to save Christians, especially when the U.S. already has troops there? Why hasn’t the U.S. authorized the MFO troops to conduct operations? Clearly I’m not advocating for this to happen. Instead, I’m making the point that war and violence occurs everywhere in the world and no one can stop all of it. The U.S. has troops in Egypt on a long outdated MFO mission doing nothing to stop Islamic jihadists as they attack Christians. And while America may eventually intervene with a different set of troops (or while it may be doing so now covertly), the lack of outrage from the ruling elites shows how their moral indignation is, at best, selective. On top of this, the violence in Egypt shows that the U.S. cannot solve every conflict in the world. And those in power know it . . . and they happily sit back and watch any conflict when that conflict involves Christians being destroyed. You know they want to die and we want to kill them, so blaze away. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Well, our troops may be there, and ISIS may be slaughtering Christians, but there's nothing in the story to prove that our troops are actually watching this go on. Click-bait. Fake news.
#2. To: HomerBohn (#0) Author: Paul Hair Paul Hair is an author and national security/intelligence expert. He writes fiction and nonfiction under his own name and as a ghostwriter. He provides his national security and intelligence insight as a freelance consultant. Nothing to show his qualifications as a “national security/intelligbence expert” and neither does it show to whom “he provides his national security and intelligence insight as a freelance consultant.”
#3. To: misterwhite, HomerBohn (#1) Standing by and watching Islamic maniacs murdering Christians is just too damned much! The article begins with: Egypt continues struggling in fighting against Islamic terrorism, with many jihadist attacks focused on Christians. But the lack of action also demonstrates how the U.S. has no obligation to stop every problem in the world — and that it has no desire to do so when Christians are the victims.I only had to read this first paragraph to realize the author had a agenda. If the author had facts to show that “U.S. Troops Watch Islamic Terrorists Slaughter Christians,” I am of the strong opinion that he would have provided the exact location along with the specific date and time. I rate this article as agenda driven bullshit targeted to a select group of readers and proving once again that one should not accept as truth what one reads on the web and cannot confirm. From the article: The reason the U.S. troops don’t stop the slaughter of Christians in Egypt is because the legal authority of the MFO forbids it.That is true. From the New York Times: CAIRO [NY Times: 02/24/2017] — Dozens of Egyptian Christian families fled their homes in the northern Sinai Peninsula on Friday, driven by a targeted campaign of Islamist violence that has killed at least seven people in recent weeks. That is true. I believe the author conflated a historical fact regarding the presence of the MFO and their mission to combine with that, a current incident where ISIS attacked Christians in the northern Sinai to “fabricate” a story. That is JMO.
#4. To: Gatlin (#3) I rate this article as agenda driven bullshit Man, you are so pathetic. “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() Those who most loudly denounce Fake News are typically those most aggressively disseminating it.#5. To: HomerBohn (#0) U.S. Troops Watch Islamic Terrorists Slaughter Christians How much did they have to pay to get in and watch?
#6. To: HomerBohn (#0) (Edited) Standing by and watching Islamic maniacs murdering Christians is just too damned much! Kill the terrorists and make them happy. You know they want to die and we want to kill them, so blaze away. Perhaps it is not an error but the objective is to eliminate Christians in the Middle East and to help Islamists? "It can be conveniently noted that a Captain of armies ought not to trust in an error which he sees ..., as it always is done under deception, for it is unreasonable that men are so incautious. But often, the desire for victory blinds the minds of men who do not see anything else other then that which favors them." (Machiavelli, Discourses III 48)
#7. To: misterwhite (#1) Well, our troops may be there, and ISIS may be slaughtering Christians, but there's nothing in the story to prove that our troops are actually watching this go on. You are so predicable
#8. To: HomerBohn (#0) If this is true, I would guess it is due to ROE. If so, Should be changed !! If I were there, I would engage the muzzies. Call it target practice. Si vis pacem, para bellum

Or pictures.
#10. To: misterwhite (#1) "...but there's nothing in the story to prove that our troops are actually watching this go on." Not only are they witnessing the slaughters take place but they pose with those assassins; including McCain.
