I would imagine Trump's response to this would be that he followed the law in regards to imports, taxes and regulations, and buying from China was the right business decision, as competitors would have beat him in the market if he didn't. But that's not the same as saying that the import laws, taxes and regs should not change and that he would not change them.
Everything is made in china. Thats the problem. Everyone that tries to make stuff here to compete against slave labor loses and goes bankrupt thanks to federal law. Until federal law is changed China will be the one making labor intensive stuff for America. We get someone that see's this and wants to change it but you still poo poo on them? You guys act like children who did not get their way fast enough.
And THEREFORE they never, ever, get their way on ANYTHING, and are rendered irrelevant. I contrast that with reasonable adults who are willing to compromise with each other to make things better. Things can and do get better thereby. Nobody gets all his way, but everybody gets enough that they can accept it. And frequently - usually - it turns out that the compromise position really works out BETTER, in the end, then either of the original totalist positions. Because actually, people on both sides are pretty smart, all in all, but have different interests. A compromise position that lets both sides core interests be protected by by which each side gives up something on the periphery ends up maximizing the benefit to each side - which produces its own momentum and benefits that are superior to either side's complete victory.
Thats the problem we have some that give up the shop and others who can not bend even a little. Someone has to be the grown up.

I bought a starter for my jubilee tractor on ebay. They claimed us made. It was Brazil or India on the box and if you looked at the stamped metal I bet it said made in China! LOL Ok not everything but damn near everything. ;)
Same starter origin when I had a jubilee. Truth is,pretty much any Ford car starter from the 50-60's cars works with the OHV 4 Ford. The 57 Ford tractor parked out back has a starter on it I took off of a 57 Ford 312 engine,and the starter drive meshed perfectly. Maybe thats why ford was so good back in the day. Never was a big fan of the reinventing the horse every couple of years. Damn corporate idiots! ;( I have owned 2 tractors both fords. They are tanks that just will not stop. I looked into new but too much crap to fail for the price paid. I only sold the Jubilee because it did not have a granny gear to run my tiller. So I sold it to some dumb kid who thought that he was going to fix it up. This thing was an ungly work horse. I bought a ford 1910 diesel. It runs well. I leaned not to run it dry. Its a pain to prime it!! Since I am moving I put it up for sale. I may have sold it. We shall see.
That's basically why I parked my 645. No granny gear,and first gear was too high to run a bushhog. I didn't actually sell my Golden Jubilee. I traded it to a guy for a 1950 Lincoln,1956 DeSoto,and a 1960 DeSoto. (G) Kinda made out on that deal. My 345 is a front end loader that weighs 9800 lbs,and has a 12 speed transmission and a 53 HP diesel engine. No problem finding a low gear in that baby! It also has the PTO on the back for a blade or a bush hog. I mostly use it to strip cars in the yard. I can chain the front of the chassis to the bucket,and stand a car up on it's rear bumper to unbolt stuff. Once I get the yard cleaned up and graded,I'll be selling it. I would say thats a beast to just rot away in the yard. One thing I have found out is that if you own your own business you really have to give up your free time and hobbies. Either your work the business or you play.
You have to learn to consider the business as "play",or something is going to fail. Business is like marriage or any other commitment. You are either in it 100 percent,or it's going to fail.
