Title: Trump Won’t Prosecute Clinton. Did You Really Think He Would?

President Trump will not pursue charges against Hillary Clinton.

He said during the election he would make sure she is prosecuted for the email and Clinton Foundation scandals.

I called bullshit at the time.

No way will Hillary Clinton be prosecuted. Bill and Hillary Clinton are valued members of the global elite and as such protected. You’ll never see Hillary behind bars. It’s just not going to happen.

Donald Trump knows this. He also knows how to work the crowd. He deftly exploited the righteous anger of the American people. He sold himself as an outsider, as an anti-establishment pariah. He attacked Obama, Clinton, and the Democrats. He went after the Republican establishment. He said he’d drain the swamp.

It was all election rhetoric and false promises.

After the election victory, he courted government insiders and neocons, the very folks he ranted against on the campaign trail.

Donald Trump is not going to dismantle the monumental fraud Obamacare and he will never tell the Justice Department and his attorney general to go after Hillary Clinton.

The swamp remains a threat to public health.

Every election cycle the voters are tricked. They were tricked with Obama twice, Bush twice, Bill Clinton twice, Ronald Reagan twice. It’s the old carrot and stick routine. Problem is, the carrot always disappears after the election.

Nothing of real substance changes.

The wars continue. Bankers are free to loot the economy. Trump said he would make America great again. It’s true if you’re a General Dynamics stockholder. Trump will make great profits for the military-industrial-complex and the prison-industrial complex.

Trump promised to expand the military and get tough on crime.

Except crimes committed by kingpins of the political class.

If I were Trump, I would not want to set the precedent of prosecuting former Presidents or campaign rivals. Given that everybody is a felon under our overbroad laws, cross that line and we will be very rapidly heading into a civil war.

" I would not want to set the precedent of prosecuting former Presidents or campaign rivals. "

So, you are OK with laws that allow elites to be above the law, and non elites are below the law?

That smacks of Medieval Times, where the kings, dukes, earls, sherifs, etc could do anything they wanted with impunity, and the peons had no rights.

I am surprised that any one not of the elite class would approve of that. Is your name Clinton? /SARC

I suspect before the next 4 years are over, Trump is going to make some decisions that will not be warmly greeted by those trying so hard to cut him slack on this decision about "Crooked Hillary"

And before anyone says it, I voted for Trump, I saw Shitlerly as an evil witch, and still do. Yes, he has not been sworn in yet. I seem to remember his berating Odumbasss for announcing what he would do in advance. And he should have been hammered for that. In this case, Trump should have kept his / Kelly Annes mouth shut. I see no reason for the release of the statement.

But I still see no justification in taking prosecution of Shitlerly the Witch off of the table. Yes, he has to be sworn in, and appoint the new AG, Director of FBI, but Trump will be steering the ship of state, and he is telling now the course he will follow ?

So, I guess we toss out " restore law & order ", whats next ?

So, you are OK with laws that allow elites to be above the law, and non elites are below the law?

No. Prosecutorial discretion is not "law". It's executive discretion.

Fact is, all Americans are felons. The law is written that way. We all break laws constantly. So when some zealot wants to get somebody, it's always pretty easy to do it.

The system itself is rotten. I want to see the rotten system changed, not harnessed up to go after one particularly odious political person.

I know that if Trump goes after Clinton but is not able to deliver on his promises to the people because he is obstructed, or weak, or doesn't really care, if he then loses in the mid-terms, and the Democrats win control, THEY will ruthlessly prosecute all powerful Republicans in a way they have not.

If the standard for running for the Presidency is to be free of all crime, nobody in America qualifies. And if the penalty for running for President is that, if you lose, the winner prosecutes you for all of your crimes, we will rapidly devolve into a police state.

" Prosecutorial discretion is not "law". It's executive discretion. "

Same effect Shitlerly & her gang will dance & sing " Laws for thee, but not for me "

This will deteriorate respect for " The Law " in this country. That is not a good thing, I don't care how anyone spins it!

Like I said , Now we are tossing out " restore law & order ", so what gets tossed out next?

" if the penalty for running for President is that, if you lose, the winner prosecutes you for all of your crimes, we will rapidly devolve into a police state. ", as opposed to not, and devolving into a lawless society, but only if you are part of the elite, otherwise, if you are a non elite, you will get smashed like a bug. Remember the sailor that took a selfie in the submarine, much less that what Shitlerly did, and he is serving what, 6 or 8 yr in a Fed prison? And look at Gen. David Petraeus.

"Everyone equal under the law " is proving to be a myth! As a number of people have claimed for a considerable amount of time, and they were ridiculed for saying so. I have not researched it, but have long heard that Congress exempts themselves from all laws that they pass: minimum wage, all labor laws, Obama Care, Soc Security, etc, etc. So I guess we should not be surprised with this It seems everyone wanting to defend Trump on this is exhibiting the trait of " its my guy, so its OK ". I say that as a guy that supported & voted for him.

I will have to peruse my copy of the US Constitution, I do not recall the section / clause that the laws only apply to the " little people ", and not the " Elite Political Class "

We might as well have Edward Longshanks.

I just do not want anyone that thinks this is OK, to start bitching when he does something you do not agree with, or if lawlessness breaks out to a larger degree than we have now ! Everyone enjoy your serfdom!

TO HELL WITH IT !!!

No way will Hillary Clinton be prosecuted. Bill and Hillary Clinton are valued members of the global elite and as such protected. You’ll never see Hillary behind bars. It’s just not going to happen.

If we are not going to follow our rules of law then just release all past criminals that are now doing time. There should be a investigation into these possible crimes and if no laws have been violated it is time to drop the issue. Simple!

I do not go to church every time the doors are opened, but I love Jesus Christ. I am only human and fail Him daily. I believe Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, was crucified on a cross, died for my sins and rose from the dead and that He loves us dearly, and is faithful to forgive us of our sins. But He says that if you deny me in front of your friends I will deny you in front of my Father. Can I get an Amen!

What I expect Trump will do is...nothing fast.

The FBI will continue to investigate. The new Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, certainly is not going to tell them to sweep anything under the rug.

There will be no political pressure NOT to find anything. They'll be left to investigate professionally, like any other crime, and if they develop a case, they will make a recommendation to the Attorney General. He will then decide what to do. I expect he will prosecute.

The President, Trump, will not be pressuring him TO prosecute, or NOT TO prosecute. HE won't be demanding a special counsel or taking extraordinary steps to attack Hillary, but he won't be taking any extraordinary steps to protect her either.

He will let law enforcement do its job, without Presidential political interference. And if the time comes when the FBI recommends prosecution and the Attorney General agrees and brings charges, then Trump may talk to the Clintons and offer a pardon - if they have otherwise been cooperative with his Presidency. A pardon implies guilt, and their acceptance of the pardon will, likewise, imply acceptance of guilt.

I think that the rule of law will, in fact, apply and work out. But I don't think that Trump is going to hurry it along, press for it, or interfere. I think he's just let the professionals be, and let the chips fall as they may.

HE isn't going to lead an effort at prosecution. But he isn't going to block it either. The President is not, after all, either the FBI or the Justice Department.

Obama interfered relentlessly. I doubt Trump will.

But if you let the media - who hates Trump and who hates you - whip you into a frenzy that Trump has lied to you, and that Trump is letting Hillary have a pass - then you're doing yourself a disservice. The President is not normally involved in any aspect of law enforcement or prosecution. Obama interfered. Trump isn't going to.

Which means that, actually, Trump is respecting the process.

If you are so filled with political rage that you want President Trump to make a EXCEPTION to the normal criminal procedure, which is: FBI investigates and recommends, and Justice Department prosecutes or declines to do so, with no role for the President, then you're going to be disappointed.

Trump's not going to talk about Hillary. Let the process work its way. If she becomes belligerent, he will. At the end of the day I expect she will be charged, as will Bill, like ordinary criminals, and at that point, nearing the mid-term elections, Trump will make a political determination as to whether to pardon the Clintons or not.

You are totally misinterpreting me. I fully understand the process, and that 1st Trump has to get sworn in, then appoint a new AG, and a new FBI Director, and then leave it up to them. Etc, Etc, Etc

But for the umpteenth time, my position is that as a nation, we SHOULD NOT HAVE two sets of laws, one set for the "elites", and another set for all peons.

Trump should not have opened his damn mouth and said that he was not going to persue charges against Shitlery.

Regardless of the techy side of who does what, etc, etc, etc, HE IS GOING TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE USA, or in simple terms, THE HEAD MO FO IN CHARGE. His statement has meaning!! He will be steering the ship of state.

After his statement, Shitlerly and her co horts are dancing around, that they think they are in the clear, and a whole lot of his former supporters are pissed !

I know he is a smart guy, but sometime down the road, he may want a bunch of supporters, but whoa, he pissed them off.

And now, society is thinking there is no rule of law.

Now if a large bunch decide they do not need to follow the law, this society could get dicey.

If that happens, then I do not want to hear a lot of crying & slinging snot from those that thought Trump was cool.

As far as I am concerned, he made a really stupid move. I don't know, maybe TPTB threatened him & his family. I know, woo woo.

I still think politically he made a real dumb ass move in indicating that she was off the hook. He may think he bought some peace with the commiecrats, but I think he will be in for a rude awakening, and those that support this move of his will too.

If society goes to hell because of that, tuff shit!

If as you seem to think that in the end Shitlerly & Bill will face justice and get what they deserve, then I will salute you for a very astute analysis. If not, then you will know you have been had!

I have been partaking in liquid Turkey for the holiday, and have said enough!

To HELL WITH IT. I don't care anymore!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving! And pray for Gods Mercy on our nation, even though I doubt HE thinks we deserve it !!!

If as you seem to think that in the end Shitlerly & Bill will face justice and get what they deserve, then I will salute you for a very astute analysis. If not, then you will know you have been had!

Of course in the end they will face justice, as will we all. That's why I don't worry too terribly much if somebody "gets away with something". Nobody ever really gets away with anything.

I won't have been had, because I didn't vote for Trump based on what he was going to do to Hillary. I voted for him for three very distinct reasons:

(1) Peace with Russia. (2) Border Wall and Deportations (3) End of "Free" Trade that is unfavorable to us. oh, and (4) pro-life justices.

Those are the four keystone, capstone issues. I don't frankly like the idea of another trickle-down tax plan. Never works. I don't like the idea of a trillion on infrastructure. But those four issues - those are the things I care about, and I perceive those to have been the four "pillars" of his campaign, the four things he started with, and kept coming back to.

Those were not four things he threw out as red meat for the Republicans. In fact, most Republicans are worried about his soft stance on Russia, and support free trade.

Those were unpopular stances. So is Trump's stance on Roe v Wade and judge nominations. Those positions he struck are not popular with the public, or not popular in the party. "Go get Hillary!" That's popular.

If he does those four things, he will have done what I took him to promise me. The other stuff I all figured was throwing down markers for campaign debate, and that he'd probably modify somewhat later. He's a negotiator. He throws out positions to get the reaction, and then people are relieved when he turns out not to be crazy.

On those four things, though, he never wavered or waffled, and he doubled down on the unpopular stances in those cases.

I think he's going to be a great President, for me. I don't hold men to a standard of perfection.

As far as the rule of law goes, well, I've never thought much about our legal system. It's corrupt and cronyish. The courts are a casino, and always have been. There are different standards for the rich than everybody else, and it's better today than it was 100 years ago.

Do I like that? No. But I don't think anything realistically can be done about it.
