My relationship with Jim's Free Republic began in 1998 when I was recovering from cancer which the physicians claimed would kill me within six months.
I'm still here, thanks be to God....and some credit to FR.
Today, I'm back again, but whatever I want to post is apparently not trusted because it has be 'reviewed'. This post will NOT see the light of day, but I just want these 'moderators' to know that the continuance of this will indeed result in the website to become irrelevant and not important to 'Conservatism".
I believe that Mr. Robinson needs to look into this abuse of power by these 'thugs' who make FR look like the least free website on the internet.
Keep it up, Mods, and earn yourselves an award for the most unfair bunch of un-fair free speech Nazis on the internet.

I was banned the year you joined, after eight years, because I kept asking why the Republican Party never, NEVER, delivered on the limited-government promises it had made for decades, even when controlling all of Congress and the White House.
This was at the height of Bush Jr. worship, with the daily picture-licking threads created by the addled old cat ladies on FR. "Oh, he's soooooo dreamy - and just look at lovely Laura today; is that a new hat?"
I may have also mentioned how much Hopalong Robinson hated Junior Bush ..... until he got elected, then it was "ban the heretics!" at any negative mention.
Has anybody noticed that, for at least two years, their fundraising moneygrabs are taking more than two months out of every three and each quarter there are only 3 or 4 weeks WITHOUT a fundraising pitch on every screen?

JR liked my constitutional stance on most subjects, but could not abide my arguing with his 'key group' of financial supporters. Money came first.

Has anybody noticed that, with 2/3rds of the year spent fundraising for at least $352,000 annually, how shitty the FR software remains?
At least here, I noticed the very handy new "Check Pings" ability at the top of threads - thanks for that useful improvement!
But on Hopalong's site, it's still not even possible to edit a post to update or correct errors after what - almost 20 years and millions of dollars dumped upon his head? What other commenting software doesn't allow that these days?
The FR software is still junk and doesn't seem to have been improved in at least a decade - so where does the third-of-a-mil/year go? I suspect the hosting costs for a text-only bulletin board aren't all that expensive. Nor are Olive Garden breadsticks.
