Omowale used the interview to claim five states as belonging to the “Black Nation”: Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia. The revolutionary stated: “We just need to start migrating back to those states and taking control of the economics in those states. If black people move in, most definitely white people will move out. So it’s not a hard process for us to have our own country within a country.” Omowale is also co-founder of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, a black militant gun group named after Black Panther Party founder Huey P. Newton. According to reports, Dallas shooter Micah X. Johnson “liked” the Huey P. Newton Gun Club and Omawale has said that he recognized Johnson from black community events in Dallas. Asked by this reporter what his group’s endgame is, Omowale replied: The end game is land ownership. The endgame is our own government in a nation within a nation. Okay. I'm to assume by reading this that you infer poverty to be just a black issue and that were they to move to some segregated area, the rest of the nation would be just fine? If this is so, you are sadly mistaken and have not visited skid row lately in modern-day America. Poverty is live and well in America regardless of one's skin color. Poverty is an issue of a society that doesn't take responsibility for those that have been left behind. there are lots of people in this world who don't fit modern society for various reasons However you cannot implement a plan like this and expect things to remain the same, industries will move, looking for that pool of skills and willingness to work. To: paraclete (#11) Poverty is an issue of a society that doesn't take responsibility for those that have been left behind. there are lots of people in this world who don't fit modern society for various reasons Poverty has become the very issue of this nation because of industries who opt to move their business looking for cheap labor; not unwillingness to work. We've got illegals in this country that are unwilling to work unless they are represented by unions and labor representatives for their own interests. That still does not resolve the poverty issue concerning the remaining percentage of people unemployed and homeless because the pool of skills has been transferred over to a certain type of people regardless of those same skills. And I do not expect things to fare any better for this nation. Some have dealt with adjustments differently.
