Opinions/Editorials Title: Response to comments: A Conspiracy Theory that became a “Conspiracy Fact”: The CIA … #29. To: Gatlin (#16) #32. To: Gatlin (#31) To: Deckard, Buckeroo, All I am coming back atcha … get ready for it because both barrels are loaded with “double aught” buckshot shells full of information. I had some time to spend … so as the Seeker of Truth, I started researching. The first two links in the article and your posts that I clicked on were broken and provided no information … nice work there, Sport. I finally found a working link and it used information from a journalist named Gary Webb that he presented in a three-part series called Dark Alliance, published in August 1996 by the San Jose Mercury News. So now the Seeker of Truth was finally onto something, a start. I set out to pursue information about Gary Webb and the Dark Alliance. In the first search hit, I quickly learned that Jeff Leen, The Washington Post’s assistant managing editor for investigations had already done my homework for me with astonishing and damning results. Jeff starts off with: An extraordinary claim requires extraordinary proof. That old dictum ought to hang on the walls of every journalism school in America. It is the salient lesson of the Gary Webb affair. It might have saved his journalism career …As I continued to read, I learned that Webb had made an extraordinary claim that the CIA was responsible for the crack cocaine epidemic in America, but what he lacked was the extraordinary proof. The NY Times, WAPO and the LA TIMES challenged the story for “its overblown claims and undernourished reporting.” The San Jose Mercury News then did an internal review of Webb’s “facts” and methods to conclude that the story by Webb “did not meet the newspaper’s standards.” I could continue on, but then why should I. I have spent enough time calling to your attention yet another agenda driven journalist and I now repeat my challenge for you to show me irrefutable evidence of your charges, but stop using people like Geraldo Rivera and Gary Webb again as your “expert witnesses.” It will be most educational for you to take time and read the damning expose on Webb by clicking here. While I continually try to tell you two narrow-minded idiots to stop buying into Yellow Journalism and do some simple fact-checking before you form an opinion or make a snap judgment, I know in my “heart of hearts” that you never will let truth become the dominate reality factor in your lives, because you cannot divorce yourself from your evil libertarian ideology. It is in my effort to further assist you to walk the narrow path of righteousness, that I now take liberty to repost the following information for your further enlightenment: It is unfortunate that the extended use of the Agenda-Setting Theory (AST) -- which I refer to as Yellow Journalism (YJ) -- has become too prevalent in the communications media. Many journalists have decided their job is to set the agenda instead of using the old fashion time-proven journalistic method of reporting “who, what, where, when, why and sometimes how.” This YJ is fast become the norm and we need look no further than the recent University of Virginia (UV) gang rape story for evidence of this. The YJ articles never connect all the dots to accurately report the facts. You may now resume your snickering at the Seeker of Truth while you continue to turn your spineless backs on the reality that just “bitch slapped the Hell outta you.” Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Begin Trace Mode for Comment # 28. for it because both barrels are loaded with “double aught” buckshot shells full of information. #28. To: GrandIsland (#25) for it because both barrels are loaded with “double aught” buckshot shells full of information. I had some time to spend … so as the Seeker of Truth, I startedI have a hard time deciding if the biggest KOOK is Deckard, Buckeroo, or tpaine. It’s the Paultard thing they have, each tries to “out best” the other with their libertarian fanaticisms. Ole Pinguinite has joined in as of late, but I kinda like him. He is the most courteous and sincere of the groupies and makes the best sense in his posts. I notice that “Little Sir Echo” (although not a libertarian, but a camp follower in awe with the “anarchy mafia”) got into a “pisser” the other day with Buckeroo when Bucky latched into him for no reason whatsoever … he was just being bucky, exceedingly obnoxious as always. That was the wrong thing for Bucky to do, since they have no friends. Oh, need I mention their little baby problem child, hondo … I guess I probably should. He left the sand box recently to make a guest appearance on a thread and again show his stupidity with yet another la la world non-relevant cartoon. I don’t know what it was about, I just look and see there is a picture and that he is the poster before I hit the mental “ignore” switch and scan on down the thread. Have I neglected to mention anyone? If so, my since apologies to the unprivileged soul(s).
Replies to Comment # 28. #37. To: Gatlin, hondo68 (#28) show his stupidity with yet another la la world non-relevant cartoon. Hypocritical asswipe. Did you conveniently forget the spam job you and Roscoe did posting a shitload of childish cartoons on the "Libertarians are Awesome" thread? Before you open that fetid gaping maw of yours and try to claim the cartoons you posted were 'relevant" - don't even start that shit. The spam you and the other short bus-riding canary Roscoe posted didn't contain a single shred of truth about libertarians. Gatlin the "truthseeker"? What a fucking joke. More like Gatlin the "chicken-shit coward".
