it was a nail in the coffin when they tried to create an undemocratic 'nation' on a common currency ,and some common defense. They left out some key ingredients like common language and customs. The EU was always a false entity . Most of the Brit laws in recent years have come out of the unelected hall of Brussels. If I were a Brit I would've voted to exit just on that issue alone.
Tom this isn't done in isolation we will all feel the impact, this is the GFC all over again, particularly in Britain. There is a selfish part of me that says this is good for my nation, we will regain lost markets, and there is a part of me that says I don't need another hit to the bottom line and our stocks and currency have taken a big hit. The EU has trodden all over democratic process and has recieved a smack in the face for allowing it. We have all forgotten that they will not emerge from this unscaved, they are no longer the largest economy in the World with the prospect of others leaving, we may even observe the break up of the UK after 300 years, a lesson to all federations, I hear Texas wants out

Bravado talk. Im not opposed to it but the problem is progressives in charge of the US govenrment are ruining the lives of the average person for their own personal desires. In time the corrupt group would find its way into Texas government. It always starts with "its to help the poor disadvantage peoples"!

I think we are beyond On the Beach. That movie created a wrong idea of our society and has no relevance today. We find the millenials here a shiftless lot, probably due to lack of opportunity, if you don't have skills in this society, you don't go far. They cannot be expected to exhibit any political view unless rabble roused on Facebook or Twitter. Anyway we will euthanase ourselves because some twit in the UK or US made a mess

Gina Rushton is a millennial, and a journalist on The Australian. Generation Less: How Australia is Cheating the Young, By Jennifer Rayner. She clearly sees things quite differently as you - in fact she claims that you are dead wrong in your characterization of OZ's Millenial generation and in fact blames you for their sense of hopelessly.

All of the replies from others to TC are addressed as being to "TooConservative". All of TC's comments have been changed to being from, lowercase "tooconservative".
To understand things properly, one must know that in the software, there is a table of all screen names, and each screen name is assigned a unique index number.
The administrator can change a screen name, but the index number associated with it does not change. This index number is what is used in the software to ID the person making each comment. So if the administrator changes a screen name, then the displayed name shown as the *author* of all comments made by that person will be retroactively changed.
However....
There are 2 separate mechanisms involved with tracking who is pinged to comments.
The first mechanism is simply the "To" line. It is recorded as text exactly as the commenting author specifies, complete with misspellings or upper/lower case mistakes. This is the "To" line that is displayed when reading a thread.
The second mechanism is involves the addition of entries in the DB that find the index number of all screen names appearing on the "To" line. The software does a case insensitive match, or tries to, of all names in the To line to an existing screen names. Those that are found have the associated index numbers added to a table for that particular comment.
Even so, any comments displayed have the original "To" line shown, appearing exactly as the author specified.
The end result is that if a screen name is altered by an administrator, even if it's just some letters from upper to lower case, all comments authored by that person are retroactively changed to show the new name. But the screen names shown on the "To" line are not altered, so the original screen name will still appear.
Modifying all "To" lines to reflect these changes is a much bigger task and potentially problematic, as people sometimes misspell screen names or address people in unusual ways.
If TooConservative's screen name was errantly changed to "tooconservative" the easy fix is to just rename it with the proper case.

As to scrimping for a weatherboard house, you are projecting your circumstances on us, the millenials will expect no less than a macmansion and they will travel to own one, or else they will buy a fancy townhouse close in. Anyway it doesn't matter those cities will become anzakistan by then and all us aussies will have migrated to Queensland or Tasmania, you see those migrants love those crappy weatherboard whiteant ridden shacks, they knock them down and build mediterrian villa with lots of stair cases and collumns
