United States News Title: This is School in a Police State - Yearbook Photo Prank Lands Teen in Jail with 70 Criminal Charges Mesa, AZ — After the Red Mountain High School released their yearbooks this year, someone noticed a peculiar image that had made it to print. That image has landed senior Hunter Osborn, 19, in jail and facing dozens of charges. This week, Osborn was arrested and charged with 69 counts of indecent exposure, a Class 1 misdemeanor, and one count of furnishing harmful items to minors, a Class 4 felony — all over a dare. The charges occurred after Osborn’s teammates on the Red Mountain High football team dared him to expose his penis during the photo for the yearbook. Mesa police Det. Steve Berry explained the dozens of charges stem from the number of students, ages 15 to 19, who were present at the time the photograph was taken. In spite of no student reporting it, or even noticing it prior to the yearbook being printed, Osborn still faces the charges. The yearbook was distributed to some 3,400 students and apparently none of the staff noticed the blunder. None of the staff, who printed the actual photo of the penis have been charged. Of course, exposing your penis is not the wisest move in the world. However, this was a high school kid’s prank. He wasn’t flashing children at a local park. These charges are ridiculous and show just how far the police state has progressed in the last decade. The statement from the Mesa Public Schools system says it all:
(function(d) { var params = { id: "c5e61464-405e-47d1-bf21-d8047e261214", d: "dGhlZnJlZXRob3VnaHRwcm9qZWN0LmNvbQ==", wid: "130998", exitPop: true, cb: (new Date()).getTime() }; var qs=[]; for(var key in params) qs.push(key+'='+encodeURIComponent(params[key])); var s = d.createElement('script');s.type='text/javascript';s.async=true; var p = 'https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https' : 'http'; s.src = p + "://api.content.ad/Scripts/widget2.aspx?" + qs.join('&'); d.getElementById("contentad130998").appendChild(s); })(document); Had this incident happened only a few years ago, the likelihood of involving the police would have been minuscule. Nowadays, however, police are the go-to resource for schools. After he had been arrested, Osborn was released and fitted with an electronic monitor as to await his potentially life-changing court date. Luckily, students at the school do not feel the same as the staff who were compelled to involve the cops in a silly prank. “He made a dumb mistake a little bit, but I don’t think he should be charged so heavily for that,” senior Zach Anthony said. Anthony and Brooke Bodrero, a sophomore, said they would not have noticed the offending image without being instructed where to look, reported CBS 5. “It’s something that’s going to be on his record for the rest of his life,” Bodrero said. “The consequences are a little harsh.” “I hope that something can be done so that this doesn’t ruin his life, his career,” said the neighbor, who asked to be identified as Jim. “He’s been a good neighbor. He doesn’t go out and party all the time. He has a job that he works at; he’s punctual. He gets up and goes to school every morning. He gets up on Sunday and goes to church. I really feel for the guy.” Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest "This is School in a Police State - Yearbook Photo Prank Lands Teen in Jail with 70 Criminal Charges" No. This is school in 2016 where a student thinks it's funny to take a class photo with his dick hanging out. He's 19 and should know better. Kick his ass out of school, charge him with a felony, and make him pay for reprinting all 3,400 yearbooks.
#2. To: misterwhite (#1) Kick his ass out of school, charge him with a felony Attaboy! Of course, you are in favor of charging those who distributed the books with felonies as well, right? ... the small size of the photograph as published makes the details difficult to discern... A felony you say? Your totalitarian posting streak continues. “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() In a Cop Culture, the Bill of Rights Doesn’t Amount to Much Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.Paul Craig Roberts#3. To: Deckard (#2) ... the small size of the photograph as published makes the details difficult to discern... I see. So you're saying the school policy should be that if the photo published in the school yearbook is small, it's OK to pull your dick out.
#4. To: misterwhite (#3) None of the staff, who printed the actual photo of the penis have been charged. Of course, you are on board with prosecuting these folks as well, correct? After all, they printed and distributed the "offensive" material. Good grief! A harmless prank, and you want this kid to be charged with a felony? Insane! “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() In a Cop Culture, the Bill of Rights Doesn’t Amount to Much Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. To: Deckard (#4) "Of course, you are on board with prosecuting these folks as well, correct?" If they knew, yes. "A harmless prank, and you want this kid to be charged with a felony?" Kid??? He's f**king 19 years old! How old does he have to be before you stop making excuses for him?
#6. To: misterwhite (#5) Kid??? He's f**king 19 years old! How old does he have to be before you stop making excuses for him? I'm saying that charging this kid with a felony for a harmless prank is absurd. The photographer, editor, printer, yearbook committee that reviewed the proofs, perhaps the Principal - NONE of these folks caught it, and you want to wreck a kid's life for pulling a dumb prank? “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() In a Cop Culture, the Bill of Rights Doesn’t Amount to Much Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. To: misterwhite (#1) Kick his ass out of school, charge him with a felony, and make him pay for reprinting all 3,400 yearbooks. We all know you are a rocket scientist in waiting for the right rocket job and all,but how about fill us all in on how he is going to get the money to pay for publishing 3400 new text books while sitting in prison? And.....,WTH are YOU to be running around demanding someone go to prison for doing something stupid, but harmless? BOYCOTT PAYPAL AND CLOSE YOUR PP ACCOUNTS NOW! ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO SO,TOO! ISLAM MEANS SUBMISSION! Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012) American Indians had open borders. Look at how well that worked out for them. #8. To: Deckard (#6) "The photographer, editor, printer, yearbook committee that reviewed the proofs, perhaps the Principal - NONE of these folks caught it" WTF?? You want to blame THESE people for not catching the fact that he had his dick out rather than blaming the kid for pulling his dick out? So what's your solution? A slap on the wrist? And what about the next kid that does it? Don't think you're going to be able to punish HIM without a major lawsuit. Congratulations. You just defined deviancy down. You've just said, "Go ahead. It's just a harmless prank. You won't be punished."
#9. To: misterwhite (#8) Saw a headline just now that they dropped charges against the kid. Glad you're not our dictator, nimrod.
#10. To: Fred Mertz (#9) "Saw a headline just now that they dropped charges against the kid." You mean the 19-year-old child? The 19-year-old little boy? Oh, I'm so glad.
#11. To: misterwhite (#1) Kick his ass out of school, charge him with a felony, and make him pay for reprinting all 3,400 yearbooks. Photographs are the property and responsibility of the photographer, not the subjects in the photo. That's how the industry works. Models are paid to pose for photos, but after they get paid, they have no claim on the photos themselves. Any and all responsibility for distributing obscene material legally lies with those who who gave the photos to others, assuming the photo qualified as obscene given the apparent small size of the photo. Since none of the classmates in the photo apparently saw him disrobed, charges related to the direct incident are unsubstantiated. Any punishment for the prank should be limited to the fact that it caused a headache for the school staff, and I'd say the false arrest, which should not have happened, more than suffices. That obviously fall short of your desire that anyone found guilty of anything should be hanged from the nearest tree, but.... too bad.
#12. To: misterwhite, Deckard (#1) No. This is school in 2016 where a student thinks it's funny to take a class photo with his dick hanging out. He's 19 and should know better. Agree, hard to sympathize with this kid. If he was arrested for having his girlfriends photo on his phone(that she emailed him) , like has happened, that would be different. This one was pretty stupid,
#13. To: Pinguinite (#11) "Since none of the classmates in the photo apparently saw him disrobed" And they never opened their copy of the yearbook. Honest.
#14. To: Deckard (#0) The charges occurred after Osborn’s teammates on the Red Mountain High football team dared him to expose his penis during the photo for the yearbook. Osborn is a spoiled brat who earned what he deserved. Behaviour merits appropriate consequences. Life is serious. He might as well learn it now rather than later.
#15. To: misterwhite (#13) And they never opened their copy of the yearbook. Honest. Some did not notice, some laughed, some black-outed it. Nobody cared to call you.
#16. To: Deckard (#0) The student should be beaten up. His ass should be kicked so bad that he is bruised and can't walk for a month.
#17. To: Deckard (#2) Attaboy! You're stupid. You would defend a pedophile exposing himself to your daughter.
#18. To: A K A Stone (#16) The student should be beaten up. His ass should be kicked so bad that he is bruised and can't walk for a month. Yeah, who does he think he is? Donald Trump?
#19. To: misterwhite (#1) Clearly the kid needs to be punished in some manner, or every year there will be another prank of this type. Replacing all of the annuals is stupid, but maybe making him pay a fine large enough to scare the H out of the next moron....It is funny though.
#20. To: A K A Stone (#17) You would defend a pedophile exposing himself to your daughter. You know what Stone? You're a real asshole. Comparing this kid to a pedophile is just ridiculous. If a pedophile exposed himself to my daughter, I'd beat the shit out of him. If I knew where you lived, I'd come over and beat the shit out of you just on general principle. This was a stupid prank you blithering simpleton, not a felony. “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() In a Cop Culture, the Bill of Rights Doesn’t Amount to Much Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. The people of that state SAYS IT IS A FELONY... who the fuck are you to say what's a crime and what isn't? The people that live in that state feel strongly against small children (children under 15) being exposed to. Small children did in fact see this scumbags genitals. TO WIT; it is a felony. It's a liberal trait to minimize personal responsibly. YOU DO THAT 24/7 HERE AT LF. Drug users do no wrong, people that fight with the police are innocent.... and our millennials THINK JUST LIKE YOU... Fucked up and irresponsible. We have a great big anything goes society now because of liberal shitbirds like you. Come see me with the same offer... and sign a waiver of liability before doing so.... because I'd expect to answer for any law I break... and assault would just be the start with a scumbag like you. I'm the infidel... Allah warned you about. كافر المسلح #22. To: GrandIsland (#21) Charges Dropped Against Arizona Football Player Who Exposed Himself in Yearbook The Arizona teenager who flashed his genitals in the yearbook photo of his high school football team won't face charges, prosecutors say.
Hunter Osborn, now 19, was arrested Saturday for the stunt and was charged as an adult with 69 counts of misdemeanor indecent exposure — one count for every "victim" who appeared in the picture, police said.
Osborn, a member of Red Mountain High School's varsity football team, was also charged with a felony for furnishing harmful items to minors, and was ordered to wear an electronic monitor upon his release.
But the Maricopa County Attorney's Office said Wednesday that it would not pursue the felony charge because "evidence does not establish a violation of the statute."
County prosecutors forwarded the misdemeanor charges to the city of Mesa. In response, Mesa police said that none of the people in the photo wanted to press charges and "the case will be closed."
Osborn had pulled the prank on a dare, but later said he was "disgusted" by his actions, Mesa police told NBC affiliate WGBA. An online petition was started by supporters to "Free Hunter Osborn." “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() In a Cop Culture, the Bill of Rights Doesn’t Amount to Much Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. The couple was headed to Salt Lake City, Utah to see a hearing specialist for an ear infection Adam had. A drug-sniffing dog was triggered off the scent of the car, inciting a search of the vehicle. No drugs or paraphernalia were found, but the officer did find $107,520 in a suitcase and the wallet of Jennifer Perry. No crime was committed, and no charges were ever filed against the Perrys, but the cash was seized and turned over to the federal government. Authorities used civil forfeiture laws to seize the money under presumptions the cash was tied to illegal activity.
