Cruz was on the radio with Hannity yesterday. Hannity asked him. You have said Kasich should drop out because he cant get the 1237. What if you cant get the 1237, will you drop out? And Cruz said NO! “If Donald is the nominee, Hillary wins”. That did it for me. Cruz wants the brokered convention. Guess he was promised his 30 pieces of silver.

I won't condemn him until it becomes obvious that it has to go to a brokered convention or Cruz drops out and supports Trump, then I will dump on him. I am a Cruz supporter, but at this point Trump would get my vote. Either one will get my vote, but I am tired of this political game.

I was a Cruz supporter for a couple of years I guess.

Can't stand him anymore. I think he is a phoney. Just saying what we wanted to hear.

His support of new world order trade deals is what I dislike. Now he is being a hypocrite.

Sad but true.

Cruz wants the brokered convention.

Of course he wants it.

He played the game from the very beginning that way. Given a large crowded field, the chances were high that it would go to the convention.

This is why Cruz built his Deep Campaign.

“If Donald is the nominee, Hillary wins”.

Hitlery would win in a 450+ electoral college landslide against Trump.

Guess he was promised his 30 pieces of silver.

What he was promised by the likes of the Stain and Lady Lindsey is that they would rather vote for Hitler than vote for Cruz.

Cruz wants to stop Trump from gaining a 1237 majority. That would gain leverage for Cruz against Trump who would need to cut a deal with somebody with delegates. Cruz could use the leverage to get on the ticket.

Trump may have to cut a deal with Cruz to stop a pre-convention change to Rule 40b which could allow anyone, such as Paul Ryan, to be placed in nomination. Cruz can sit there and say, "Donald, cut me in or you get cut out." By denying Trump a 1237 majority, it puts a lot of leverage in the hands of Cruz.

Paul Ryan denied he wanted to be speaker until the party claimed to have no one else and Ryan answered the call and sacrificed self for party and reluctantly became speaker without running for it.

I think Cruz has a decent chance.

Hillary's only chance is an inexperienced opponent even more unpopular with Republicans than she is with Democrats.

You may get your test. I doubt it. I think the party will accept Trump in the end.

If not, they'll advance somebody like Kasich.

Cruz won't get a majority before the convention, and the Republicans won't give him one at the convention either.

No way.

Trump and Cruz will have 90% of the delegates when the convention opens and the rules are set.

No way either will allow any changes. Kasich will not have the eight states and neither of them will allow any change to allow Kasich's name to appear on every ballot. However, both Trump and Cruz will win enough delegates to insure that their names will appear on all ballots at the convention. That way, Kasich would be demoted by the rules to be no more eligible than a complete outsider like Romney or Ryan.

Cruz will allow a rules change because he has only gotten the majority of delegates in about four states, which means that under the current rules he is not eligible to be placed into nomination. He needs a rules change, and will permit it.

And that means that he'll bargain other things with the others.

It's going to be a goat rodeo.

I think he has five. Some people allege six, depending on how you do the delegate math.

In several states, he is on track to pick up the majority easily (CO, WY, NE). And there are other states that haven't finished picking delegates yet where Cruz might still gain the majority.

Cruz will have his 8 states (probably 9-11), meaning your assumption is unwarranted.

think the party will accept Trump in the end.

I told this forum that 6 months ago when 12 RINO's were fighting to be top RINO. However all the paranoid schizophrenic government hating Ron Paultards claimed the (R) & (D) "single party conspiracy theory wouldn't allow it. The same liberal retards that claimed the government would assassinate Ron Paultard if he won the (R) primary.

Trump is the ONLY candidate that can and will beat that filthy twat, KILLary. If Trump happens to stroke out and sleazy voiced Cruz should be top dog, expect an easy election for that gun and man hating whore, KILLary.

So my reading is this for states where a candidate has won 50% or more of the vote:

Trump: NH, SC, NV, GA, AL, MA, TN, VT
Cruz: IA, OK, TX, KS, ME

(I gave VT to Trump but it was a tie in delegates between Trump and Kasich.)

Of course, this list is far from perfect. Various party rules and laws in the states affect this a bit.

I think Trump has an indisputable 7 and Cruz has an indisputable 5. JMO.

Trump will pick up NY and others in the northeast, possibly CA too. Cruz will get CO/ND/NE/WY and maybe a few others.

Of course, at this point there are no convention rules at all, for all that we yak about Rule 40. There is no Rule 40 yet. The rules are enacted for each convention by the rules committee of that convention. Generally, they continue the longstanding rules of previous GOP conventions but anything and everything can be changed by the convention rules committee. However, in general, the GOP still has the same convention rules that it inherited from its predecessor, the Whigs. So don't expect major changes.

correct Trump and Cruz will qualify under existing rules (rule 40 ) . That means that the playing field is the same at the convention as it was when they all entered the contest . 1. hold the majority of the delegates to win ;2. win the majority of at least 8 state primaries.

Rule 40 is ridiculous and should be scrapped for the 2020 convention . But the rules should not change for the current convention.

I think Trump has an indisputable 7 and Cruz has an indisputable 5. JMO.

That should be six states for Cruz. I missed Wisconsin which almost certainly qualifies as one of Cruz's 8 states.
