Title: 'Distraught' Bush Donor: Rubio Is A 'F**king Jedi Master'

A Jeb Bush donor upset about his failed attack on Sen. Marco Rubio in the Republican presidential primary debate Wednesday called Rubio a “Jedi Master,” who the Bush campaign should have known not to mess with.

“Marco is a [expletive] Jedi Master,” the reportedly “distraught” Florida donor told Politico. “Hopefully these idiots learn not to [expletive] with him anymore. Not necessary.”

Added another Florida Bush donor: “[Bush] got crushed.”

Bush tried and basically failed to hit Rubio on missed Senate votes in the debate. “You should be showing up to work,” he told Rubio, jumping in on a CNBC question about Rubio’s voting record. “I mean, literally, the Senate — what is it, like a French work week? You get, like, three days where you have to show up? You can campaign, or just resign and let someone else take the job.”

An obviously prepared Rubio responded by pointing out that when former Sen. John McCain ran, after whom Bush recently said he’s modeling his campaign, Bush wasn’t complaining about his voting record. “The only reason why you’re doing it now is because we’re running for the same position, and someone has convinced you that attacking me is going to help you,” he added to applause.

Bush’s poor performance in the debate follows news of staff cuts and single digit polling numbers. His loss is largely Rubio’s gain, who is expected to capitalize on Bush’s diminishing status in the race to consolidate establishment support.

“Going after Rubio that way was just a mistake,” another Bush donor told Politico. “No one cares about missed fucking votes in the Senate. Washington cares about that. The media cares about that. And losing candidates care about that. Jeb sounded like he was losing. And Marco made him pay.”

Bush campaign manager Danny Diaz tried to assure reporters following the debate his candidate is still in the race. “Stick with us, brother,” he told Daily Caller reporter Jamie Weinstein. “We’ll be good.”

I love these Jeb-is-dead stories.     : )

A few excerpts from Politico stories:

For months, Republican donors viewed Marco Rubio as a growth stock. After his bull run in Wednesday’s debate, investors are buying.

It started even before the debate in Boulder ended. Donors who had been getting calls from Rubio’s Colorado campaign chairman for two months were suddenly emailing him. Seven donors he’d been working couldn’t convey their messages fast enough: I’m in.

“The movement in donors and activists is significant and palpable,” said Josh Penry. “People saw Marco last night and they saw a conservative and they saw a winner. The people who always liked him but doubted his polish now see a guy on stage they can see next to Hillary Clinton.”…

“Phones have been ringing off the hook all day,” the campaign official said. “Fundraisers already scheduled are seeing increased attendance—and lots of people want to host events.”

Jeb Bush’s campaign, wounded after another mediocre debate performance, is bracing for the possibility that revenue dries up in the coming weeks ahead

Staffers in Miami are reportedly frustrated after having relocated there only to be asked now to work for less money and accept reassignments to other states. There is a “broad sense of betrayal, disappointment and anger,” according to a source inside the campaign…

Other campaigns are already positioning themselves to exploit Bush’s decline. John Kasich, who has been treading water, could see an opening among more moderate Republicans as Bush fades. And rival Marco Rubio is courting the establishment donors that originally flocked to the elder Floridian and one-time friend.

The donors are jumping from the Jeb! bandwagon directly onto the Rubio bandwagon, joing the conservative pundits and Right blogosphere who already jumped to Team Rubio.

Rubio is now the establishment candidate, the guy to stop Trump/Carson/Cruz.

Yes Rubio is a better fit to try such.

Don't think he will though.

IMO Cruz is sitting pretty good.

He will get a lot of Carson and Trump votes when those campaigns implode or fall asleep:)

He is playing a long game, building organization throughout the South and Midwest. Cruz has the potential of being the conservative bases' only real choice after Trump/Carson implode or fade. And it seems hard to believe that 2016 outsider fever will elect a president who has no government experience at all. They have always been pols (congresscritters, governors, cabinet members) along with the three generals. Do Trump or Carson have the ability to get elected as total outsiders? Seems farfetched to me. Same problem that Herman Cain had.

Rubio does have a lot more visual appeal and personal charisma. Rubio is a chick magnet type (like Xlinton), Cruz decidedly is not. And Rubio is very slippery as a politician. Cruz may find it hard to defeat Rubio if the race boils down to those two by next March, which a lot of pundits think is feasable.

I'd vote for Cruz - but he's burned too many bridges (plus, he's not pro- illegal invation) to ever pass muster by the ruling party. He's not going to be the gop-e nominee.

Besides - I've taken a little, informal poll among millenials, and I've discovered a hatred for the man that I've not seen in any candidate since Nixon or Reagan. Nixon overcame it by running against a Marxist (before Marxism was cool). Reagan overcame it with wit and charm.

Whatever Cruz has done to p**s the millenials off, they sure do hate him. And the hatred has (as they say) gone viral.
