When it first started out I figured they were gonna blow off the Rangers totally, although they did try pretty hard. They weren't totally stupid cause they did bring up Gallardo (a RHer) and his record against the Jays. But they blew off the LHers which I think is a mistake, and ignored the other RHers for the Rangers. Which means they don't think anybody can shut down the Jays when the opposite is true... Now when it came to the Astros/Royals they seemed to understand if you keep the ball in the park against Houston you can beat them fairly easily... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #52. To: CZ82, tomder55, liberator (#51) The WC needs to be a best of 3. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #53. To: redleghunter (#0) The home teams haven't fared too well so far. потому что Бог хочет это тот путь #54. To: redleghunter (#48) I finally heard one of the "experts" pick the Rangers as having a good chance to upset the "unbeatable" Blue Jays and that was Kevin Millar. He said he thought the Rangers matched up well with the Jays and stood a good chance of winning the series. Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #55. To: SOSO (#53) The Pirates had their chances against Arrieta he made some mistakes up in the strike zone, those pitches were either fouled off or ended up being hit into double plays... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #56. To: redleghunter (#52) The WC needs to be a best of 3. Why? Would you rather be watching baseball instead of football while eating Thanksgiving turkey??? :) Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #57. To: redleghunter (#46) So many of them predicted the Yankees to win the WC. Old habits die hard they are used to the Yankees winning and didn't see the reality of the situation they were a tired, injured team who backed into the playoffs with a bad record down the stretch. They also thought the young team Astros should have known who their elders/betters were and folded like a cheap house of cards. Most of the so called experts on baseball only take into consideration certain stats, not all of them, and that's why most of them are wrong most of the time. But as you well know "Every dog has his day"... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #58. To: redleghunter (#44) Yeah long-term contracts for aging pros is an albatross around the neck. The Yankees are a big market team and can afford to release or tell a few players to retire and suck up the money loss. Most other teams don't have that luxury and have to choose players and contracts very wisely... Yeah and we have a couple of those contracts that could really be a hindrance before it's over with, but so far so good... Prince, Hamels and Choo contracts all expire in 20 and 21, Choo will be 38 or 39 by then... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #59. To: CZ82 (#56) There's that. But one game elimination for a team who battled series after series? "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #60. To: redleghunter (#59) Is it because the teams that lost had "ever so slightly" better records than the team that won?? This only means they had one or 2 bad breaks less than the teams they lost to... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #61. To: redleghunter (#52) The WC needs to be a best of 3. nah , this is better . It gives great incentives to win divisions. WC teams do not earn extra consideration. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #62. To: CZ82 (#58) The Yankees are a big market team and can afford to release or tell a few players to retire and suck up the money loss. Most other teams don't have that luxury and have to choose players and contracts very wisely... Hal Steinbrenner is not his old man . He has put the team on a budget . They will be a better team in the long run for that . All the Yank fans knew that this year and next will be a retooling year similar to what they did in the eary 1990s under Gene Michaels . For the Yanks to even make the WC game was an unexpected bonus. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #63. To: CZ82, tomder55 (#60) So.... Will be at work for both Rangers games this week. What the heck, 2:45 CT start time and a before noon first pitch tomorrow! Do Canadians go to work at 9am and get off by 11am? "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #64. To: redleghunter (#63) Will be at work for both Rangers games this week. What the heck, 2:45 CT start time and a before noon first pitch tomorrow! Do Canadians go to work at 9am and get off by 11am? Don't feel bad I will be at work too so will have to wait to see what happened. Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #65. To: redleghunter CZ83 (#63) What you have to do is sneak a transistor radio into work. That's what I did in 1969 .My teacher never caught me. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #66. To: CZ82 (#64) Don't feel bad I will be at work too so will have to wait to see what happened. Where I used to work before retiring, we had a break room with basic cable. Might have to go over and see those 'clients' today or tomorrow:) "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #67. To: tomder55 (#65) I guess I could stream the game. That's an idea. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #68. To: redleghunter (#67) tried looking for a free site . couldn't find one . but while you are waiting you can watch Ted Cruz destroy the clown from the Sierra Club. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl9-tY1oZNw Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #69. To: CZ82 (#60) Zig looks like more than Banister comes to LF for our 'wise' commentary:

To: tomder55, CZ82, liberator (#68) Have MLB Gameday up on my computer at work. Have a PowerPoint briefing ready to pull up if the boss comes by:) LOL.... 2-0 Rangers mid third. DeSheilds RBI single Beltre RBI single Trainers were working on Beltre between innings. Did not seem to deter his bat:) That turf is probably tearing him up. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #71. To: tomder55, CZ82, liberator (#70) Bad news. Beltre taken out of the game. Alberto now playing third and batting third. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #72. To: tomder55, CZ82, liberator (#71) Now 2-1 Rangers. Gallardo pitched well out of a jam. Apparently the run the Jays scored was on a soft ground ball Elvis and Alberto could not get to. Such is baseball. Gallardo through 4 full and only 59 pitches. Not bad work considering his other outings lately. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #73. To: redleghunter (#72) Now 4-1 Rangers Chirinos just hit a 2 run HR with Odor on base via HBP... :) Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #74. To: redleghunter (#69) http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/08/sports/criticized-for-being-a-woman-announcer- jessica-mendoza-shines-anyway.html?WT.mc_id=2015-OCTOBER-OUTBRAIN- SHARED_AUD_DEV-1001-1031&WT.mc_ev=click&ad-keywords=AUDDEVREMARK&_r=0 LOL... Ain't that the truth... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #75. To: redleghunter (#72) (Edited) Gallardo through 4 full and only 59 pitches. Looks like Gallardo is about done Maddox out to talk to him 4-2 Rangers... Kela is up in the bullpen... Donaldson out of the game Carrera PH for him... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #76. To: redleghunter (#69) But even as Mendoza’s experience is hailed by her colleagues, critics still question whether her experience in softball is enough. ROTFLMAO... They obviously have no clue what softball is all about and how it relates to the "little white ball game"... LOL...:) Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #77. To: CZ82 (#73) Odor scored twice both times got on base HBP. Batista went long on Kela 4-3 "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #78. To: CZ82 (#75) Donaldson out of the game Carrera PH for him... Apparently Odor's knee hit him in the head. So a key player out for both teams. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #79. To: CZ82 (#76) With Kela coming in for the 6th, wonder what Banny has in store the rest of the way? He announced Perez for game 3. So perhaps Colby or Holland comes out of the pen today? I heard a rumor that this was the case. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #80. To: CZ82 (#76) LOL Odor gets plunked twice by Price and then on the first pitch in the 7th he sends it over the RF fence. No wonder he plunked him twice:) "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #81. To: redleghunter (#80) That was a rocketship was outta here in the blink of an eye, obviously he was looking for an inside pitch... YA THINK!!! LOL... Diekman does the 7th in 6 pitches so he'll probably do the 8th now. First pitch was 99 MPH, my guess his adrenaline level is up there, 6 outs to go!!! Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #82. To: CZ82 (#76) Diekman just blew through Russell Martin and the bottom of the order. 7th in the books Rangers 5-3. If all goes to plan, we should see Dyson come in to face the top of the order. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #83. To: redleghunter (#80) Alberto at the plate and they are showing Beltre's stats for him. LOL... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #84. To: CZ82 (#81) That was a rocketship was outta here in the blink of an eye, obviously he was looking for an inside pitch... YA THINK!!! LOL... Well work done:) Heading home so will catch some on the radio. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #85. To: redleghunter (#82) (Edited) If all goes to plan, we should see Dyson come in to face the top of the order. Why use him let Diekman go another inning if he can, save Dyson for 9th and let Tolleson rest... Diekman back out for the 8th, good job Banny... Diekman gets thru the 8th in 10 pitches, still 5-3 Rangers... Bautista just got pulled from the game I would say it's a cramp... (UPDATE) Looks like he tweaked his hammy... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #86. To: redleghunter (#84) Heading home so will catch some on the radio. Game is televised on FS1 (FOX Sports 1) channel 219 on DIRECT TV, that's what I'm watching... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #87. To: redleghunter (#84) Bottom of the 9th still 5-3 and Dyson is pitching for the Rangers, Venable in for Hamilton, Stubbs came in for DD last inning and Moreland in for Napoli... Donaldson passed concussion protocols could be back tomorrow... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #88. To: redleghunter (#82) Seen a stat back about the 6th inning comparing the bullpens since Sept 1st, Rangers 2.19 ERA and Jays have a 4.49 ERA... Big Advantage Rangers... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #89. To: redleghunter (#84) Well work done:) The plan is going as intended the RHers shut the Jays down and won game 1 5-3. Bottom of the order got the job done for the Rangers they gave price fits, glad they gave him 11 days rest but don't think it really made any difference they have his number... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #90. To: redleghunter (#79) He announced Perez for game 3. Still think I would use Gonzalez for game 3 and save Perez for game 4, play those matchups to the hilt... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #91. To: redleghunter (#71) Bad news. Beltre taken out of the game. Alberto now playing third and batting third. Too bad Joey isn't on the roster this would be a good place for him since the next 3 games should be against RHers...
