p class="mol-para-with-font">Former Texas Governor Rick Perry said Friday that he is pulling out of the 2016 race. 'Today I am suspending my campaign for the presidency of the United States,' Perry said, according to prepared remarks released in advance of a speech at the conservative Eagle Forum in St. Louis, Missouri. The two-time White House candidate was polling at 1 per cent among Republicans and had reduced his campaign staff to just a few full-time aides. 'We have a tremendous field – the best in a generation – so I step aside knowing our party is in good hands,' Perry said in a statement. ![]() Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest " Former Texas Gov. To: Stoner (#1) Wonder who will be next? Grahm? I'll say Jindal if his rant about Trump doesn't give him a bump. There are three kinds of people in the world: those that can add and those that can't #3. To: cranky (#0) I kinda doubted Perry had a chance. People couldn't forget his 2016 flop. And he never found a tycoon backer or any group like community bankers to back him. Too bad. There was a lot to like about his record and his ability to win some Hispanic votes without pandering on open borders and amnesty. I expect a few other dominoes to fall in the next month. Maybe Jindal. I think a few others like Gillmore and Pataki are just running a book tour or trying to raise lobbying fees. I think Graham is on a shoestring and might stay in through South Carolina.
#4. To: TooConservative (#3) I think Graham is on a shoestring and might stay in through South Carolina. I think you're right about that. Favorite son and all that. I hope it doesn't help him. There are three kinds of people in the world: those that can add and those that can't #5. To: cranky (#0) At least you exited with more class than that diaper head from India... I mean Louisiana. Now, go seal up the border... and try and lay low until after the election is finished. I'm the infidel... Allah warned you about. كافر المسلح #6. To: cranky (#0) First one out! Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry pulls out of 2016 Republican presidential primary race First one? I thought juan Jose Bush and Graham had already pulled out, or maybe they are saving their strength for another day?
#7. To: cranky (#0) Perry pulls out of 2016 Republican presidential primary race Good riddance...
#8. To: BobCeleste, cranky (#6) I thought juan Jose Bush and Graham had already pulled out, or maybe they are saving their strength for another day? Anyone heard form Rubio lately? He has all but disppeared. потому что Бог хочет это тот путь #9. To: TooConservative (#3) People couldn't forget his 2016 flop. I think you mean 2012.
#10. To: TooConservative (#3) Really not surprised. It seems the only candidate to emerge from the kids table debate is Fiorina. Rick Perry would just be taking votes from Ted Cruz. Not only Jindal but I think Rick Santorum is looking at the environment of Iowa and seeing the landscape is different than in 2012. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #11. To: Stoner (#1) Wonder who will be next? Grahm? Should be Gilmore, Pataki, and Jindal.
#12. To: redleghunter (#10) Not only Jindal but I think Rick Santorum is looking at the environment of Iowa and seeing the landscape is different than in 2012. Huck and Santorum won't like it but I don't think any candidate (other than an incumbent prez) has won Iowa more than once. Iowa is for unknown and underfunded candidates, to give some nobody (e.g. Jimmuh Carter) a chance instead of only big names with deep pockets winning the nomination. But having won Iowa already in past cycles, those two can't expect to win it again. So they should drop out. I couldn't figure out why they ran to begin with unless they're on a book tour.
#13. To: SOSO (#8) Anyone heard form Rubio lately? Who? What's a Rubio?
#14. To: TooConservative (#3) Too bad. There was a lot to like about his record and his ability to win some Hispanic votes without pandering on open borders and amnesty. ROTFLOL! Good grief, he pushed through in-state tuition for illegals and pandered at La Raza conventions every chance that he got. He even stated in his last dismal failure of a run that those of us who oppose subsidizing the invasion of this country with programs like his are 'heartless'. Hopefully, that America-hating quisling Rick Perry will retire to the country that he has represented -- Mexico. He is a traitorous, corrupt, America-hating bastard.
#15. To: TooConservative (#12) The other name not mentioned much lately is Scott Walker. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #16. To: redleghunter (#15) The other name not mentioned much lately is Scott Walker. He's fallen to tenth in Iowa, his supposed stronghold.
