On March 13th Noah was diagnosed with a brain tumor found at the cerebellum against his brainstem (Classic Medulloblastoma)

Please pray for Noah, his parents Samuel and Christina, and his sister Lauren. Noah's MRI yesterday shows his tumor has regrown, and he faces more difficult treatment to come. Lord have mercy.

Please lift up your prayers for little Noah and his family.

Done and done.

I am a believer in prayer for healing.
Over two decades ago a friend of mine's 4 year old son
came down with leukemia. We all prayed - seriously.
And the boy beat it! Yeah! Healthy to this day.

The kid and his mother sure deserved it.
Because his father (whom his mother divorced) was an
unfaithful criminal jerk. He spent time in jail for
check fraud and I don't remember what all else.
When I heard that she had gotten engaged to the guy -
I thought to myself 'This will not end well'...

...your mom...

Thanks for asking.

We're coming up on the first anniversary of Dad's passing.
A couple of weeks ago she said: 'I miss your father.'

I said: 'So do I Mom.'

A female friend of mine was 'shocked' that I said that.

I don't know why - because it's the darned truth.
What was I supposed to say?

Coming up on 3 years last week of Sept for my dad too.

Sigh...we finally appreciate our fathers when we get older ourselves and had to endure some or most of their trials, hard work, and joys as well.

But I understand. That 'sounding board' is no longer there. With our dads they lived so long we kind of expected they would be 'there' forever.

I miss the long phone conversations on the Mets and Marlins. He loved to talk about baseball year-round. LOL boy did that trait stick to me huh?:)

Latest update on Noah. His condition worsens. The family indicates below the doctors gave them "the talk" no parent wants. Praying for a miracle. My wife and I once had that "talk" with doctors about 5 years ago. An overnight miracle occurred and he now eats me out of house and home every day:)

The post I always wished id never have to write By Christina Willis — 1 hour ago

Thank you for everyone's constant prayers. We are done fighting. He's in the PICU and comfortable but not yet breathing on his own. They had to intubate him after all the medications they gave to stop his seizures. He was still having them according to the EEG when in the PICU. His spinal fluid isn't being re absorbed and despite draining from the surgery they did its continuing to build up in his brain. He did a radiation treatment yesterday before going downhill. Dr Lula (oncologist) had the dreaded talk with us that they believe his cells are too numerous in his fluid and it's now coating his brain. Leading to seizures and fluid build up. Despite radiating his brain and spine the cancer has spread too much making the chance of cure nearly 0. It would end up causing more suffering and potentially more seizures etc...

We are having to say goodbye. I don't know when or what this all looks like yet. I don't know how to do this…"

Worse than I was when I got to the hospital?

Prayer is an important part of what I used, I would never think that the b-17 without the prayer would have worked, I left it out because I thought we had talked about it on the phone right after I got out of the hospital.

Worse than I was when I got to the hospital?

Comparisons of cancer and medical situations are non starters and lead to strife. Everyone's situation is different and must be handled as such.

For example, I would never approach these parents and say "well I had stage IIIA colon cancer and so I understand.." Worst thing in the world to say to parents whose son is fighting for his life. So comparisons don't literally compare. You had pain, you endured like a Christian man and I am proud of you for doing so. But Noah is no man with the strength of a man or a man's mind.

So please no comparisons.

The way I read the latest journal entry is that the family is preparing for the worst and the child has hours or days left. We should be praying for a miracle.

The latest update from Noah's father:

There are thousands (I suspect 10s of thousands) praying for my family and our Noah's circumstances. We are humbled, deeply grateful and will need much more as we continue to grapple with this here & now as well as longer term. I implore you friends to have eyes to see that this is not by pure happenstance. Many have been led to begin praying more consistently even though they might say it's not their "strong suit", others have been led to fast in conjunction with their prayers or carve out new time in their daily lives for extended periods of intentional prayer and devotion. So many have upped the intensity of their prayer "game" against the backdrop of our perdicament. I believe in my sole that this is not a one time calling. God is stirring a new legion of emboldened prayer warriors ready to call upon the awesome power of the Almighty!

Before I go on I need to acknowledge that we've all been praying for healing. It is entirely realistic and within God's infinite scope to reveal Himself through a miracle. I also feel it's entirely realistic that we must prepare our heart for a "see you later". I ask you, is the latter anything less than a full and complete healing beyond anything Noah could be given here and now in the absence of a miracle? God's way are not our ways.

God beckons us daily to be better than we were yesterday. Please do not back off seeking after the Lord through prayer and petition for any myriad of purposes. There is much to be this intentional about; such as the final coming of the Lord. 1 Thes. 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you".

God can use tragedy that satan intends for evil to jolt us out of our earthly zoned-out state, not unlike what happened to our country 14 years ago today on 9/11. Churches were overflowing for weeks and cries to God went up from every corner. Nobody that I know as they were accepting Jesus' free gift of eternal life turned to asked if He can be sure at some point to hold their life up as an example for your glory. Yet it doesn't take a deep of a dive into scripture to realize that those that proclaim the name of the Lord Most High can have a rough go. And so we walk in obedience. Christina and I are filled with both profound sorrow and eternal joy but rest in God heavenly embrace.

We are so grateful for your continued prayers for Noah and our family, please also be praying about how God has touched your heart and called you forward in your spiritual walk. God is good.

Sam

Another prayer sent for Noah.

And please say a prayer for the family of Kara.
Kara is/was a 14 year old incoming high school freshman.
My mother will attend her funeral tomorrow morning.
My mom is a close friend of the girl's grandmother.

Her death has really shaken the whole community.
She was on a sleepover with her teammates at a friend's
house. Her teammates could not wake her up.
Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out. Some sort of
medical condition. A more extensive autopsy was supposed
to happen today.

There are doubts that the church will have the capacity for
all of the mourners. I've never seen the community so shaken up.

Accept my apologies, my prayers are with both the child and his family.

There is some talk of building some sort of sports facilities,
at Eastern High School dedicated to Kara - or else purchasing
sports equipment. Nothing is yet determined.

She also had 1/2 page in the Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer today.

What a great community you live in.

It is. I didn't appreciate it while growing up.
I griped and moaned - until I moved away.
I lived in a number of places around the country -
some good - some somewhat less so. Then I moved back
here to help out my elderly parents.

Then I saw this place in a somewhat different light.
Except the taxes. The super-high taxes drive people away,
and disrupt families. That's the biggest problem here.

If not, he should, in my opinion.
Known to be therapeutic.

Yes according to the Caring Bridge posts he has one or two pet cats waiting for him at home.

Noah indicated to his mom during a lucid moment yesterday he wanted to go home, play with the cats , have a real bath in his tub and to play in his sandbox.

He knows his time is limited but also has the confidence there are Caring Hands waiting for him too.

Total strangers along with church members and community held a prayer vigil for Noah last night near his favored sand box. Of course such outpouring of faith and love will not hit the news.

CW latest on little Noah:

Noah has been in a coma since early morning and at only 30% oxygen his brain hasn't been responsive. I believe at this time he has already joined Jesus and the angels in heaven. His body, just a shell, is working hard to just maintain itself with irregular raspy breaths and rapid heartbeat. I know he isn't really with us anymore but I'm taking every last opportunity to kiss him and touch him. You fought a good fight buddy. I'm sure God is giving you so much praise for all the hearts you've touched here. Save a place for us. We'll be there soon.

He's in the more than capable Hands of Christ now.

Thank you for your prayers. Now the family will need them.

It would seem Noah isn't done teaching us lessons on tenacity and endurance. His condition in terms oxygen and pulse are slightly improved from yesterday morning. Still otherwise unresponsive but comfortable with no congestion.

-Sam-

Still in a coma, heart beating and breathing. But is brain isn't there. His pupils unresponsive, eyes closed and he hasn't shown us he's aware in over 2 days. His breathing has quieted and he seems more at peace this morning. This is hard for all of us. Just feel stuck. I never thought I'd say this prayer but please Lord, please take him.
