When it comes to the U.S.-led war in Iraq, hindsight continues to turn up its share of surprises.
Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, one of the staunchest defenders of the Iraq war, said in an interview with the Times of London that his boss, former President George W. Bush, was wrong to try to create democracy onto Iraq.
“The idea that we could fashion a democracy in Iraq seemed to me unrealistic. I was concerned about it when I first heard those words,” Rumsfeld said, adding, “I’m not one who thinks that our particular template of democracy is appropriate for other countries at every moment of their histories.”

This seems like a pro-Jeb! move to me.
"Yes, it seems George, despite the best democratic intentions, was wrong about relying on democracy to remake Iraq. Jeb, of course, is much more of a realist. Blah-blah-blah."
It's a GOPe media narrative, dissing George to help create the opening for ¡Jeb! in 2016.

At one time Islam was the lesser of two evils.
If it hadn't been for the creation of the Protestant religion to weaken the power and influence of the Catholic Church that would probably still be the case.
Can't wait to see nutcase Muslims immigrate to Ireland and try to pull their crap so we can all watch what happens when they run into the Christian "Old Time Religion". My prediction is it ain't going to be as much fun for them as they think it will be.

Can't wait to see nutcase Muslims immigrate to Ireland and try to pull their crap so we can all watch what happens when they run into the Christian "Old Time Religion". My prediction is it ain't going to be as much fun for them as they think it will be.
For a preview, see some of the articles about what is happening to dark-skinned and Muslim refugees being settled in western Ukraine (the hotbed of Ukraine's neo-Nazis). They're attacking them for trying to ride buses or use public pools, etc. The locals think the land and country are for white people only.

American Forces Press ServiceWASHINGTON, Aug. 27, 2004 – Iraq and Afghanistan's transition to democracy will be a long and hard effort, but it is worth the pain and sacrifice of so many, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld told Marines and sailors at Yuma, Ariz., Aug. 26.
Rumsfeld spoke at the Marine Corps Air Station. He thanked the Marines and sailors for their willingness to serve in the global war on terrorism and said they would look on their service in this fight the same way their grandfathers looked at their service in World War II.
Many scoffed at the United States after World War II for trying to mold Germany, Italy and Japan into democracies, Rumsfeld told the Marines and sailors. But through persistence and example that change was made, and now those three countries are among the world's staunchest democratic allies, he said. "It will not be an easy transition to democracy in Afghanistan or Iraq," he said. "It think it was Thomas Jefferson who said of our own transition that one should not expect to be transported to democracy in a featherbed. It is a tough thing to do."
