Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would “certainly not give up” the possibility of running as a third-party candidate if he is not treated “fairly” by the GOP.

When asked if he would pledge not to run as third-party candidate, Trump said, “I’m leading in every poll, in some cases by a tremendous margin. People who know me aren’t surprised. If I’m treated fairly by the Republican Party I would no interest in doing that. If I’m not treated fairly by the Republican Party, I very well might consider that, I would certainly not give that up.”

Death to the Republican party!!!!

Any party that gave us George Bush, Jr as president, twice, deserves to die.

Yes they will.

I still remember, and you probably do too, all the establishment types that before Reagan got elected, talked about him like a mangy dog. But after he was elected, the fist words out of their mouths was " I am a Reagan Conservative ".

What a bunch of azzholes!

Nope, the northeast lib Republicans still looked down their noses at him. More of them did cave somewhat after the '84 election. Some of them refused consistently to ever say that they were Reagan Republicans. Romney, for instance, denied rather vehemently on a number of occasions that he was a Reagan Republican in any way. Of course, by the time he ran for prez, he wanted us to believe he was the Second Coming of Reagan.

My memory is a lot different than yours. I remember all of them, especially after Reagan left office, were all "me too, me too, me too" I am a Reagan Republican". The same azzholes that before he ran did nothing but talk about him like a mangy dog. And they all were, & still are AZZHOLES!

Your memory is obviously different. They were all for "the establishment" and hated anybody that challenged them. They hated Goldwater also, but since he did not win, they never felt the need to try to appear to be in alignment with him, like they did Reagan.

I hope the repuke party goes the way of the Whigs. That is what they deserve!

Well, now you've gone from "as soon as Reagan was elected" to "especially after Reagan left office".

I was just observing that the northeast liberal GOP didn't exactly fall head over heels with Reagan right away. Some of them still haven't.

Tell me TC, which posting number did you copy & paste that quote from, that you attribute to me?

In post #3, you said: ' I still remember, and you probably do too, all the establishment types that before Reagan got elected, talked about him like a mangy dog. But after he was elected, the fist words out of their mouths was " I am a Reagan Conservative ". '

Now you're kinda sliding down to "especially after he left office".

Actually, the GOP needs to dump the whole Saint Ronny bit. It sounds totally out of touch and a little creepy to the millennials who do not happen to love a prez that left office before they were born. You'll notice that the Dems have cut way back on idolizing FDR and JFK too, for the same reason.

Look kid, if you are going to quote me, be factually correct. Don't make it look like a copy & paste when you have fabricated it. I will not do that to you, or any one else.

This may not be a big deal, but I guess you are intelligent enough to realize fabricating words for another poster does not reflect well on you!

Do I need to provide annotated footnotes too?

You clearly said that Reagan was universally acclaimed as soon as he won office in #3.

before Reagan got elected, talked about him like a mangy dog. But after he was elected, the fist words out of their mouths was " I am a Reagan Conservative "

My comments were spot-on. And you are trying to wiggle away from your own posts. Reagan was never beloved by the Bush wing of the party and still isn't.
