Title: Trump gives out Lindsey Graham’s cell phone number on live TV

Like I say, this was a cell phone number, not Graham’s Senate office number, which of course is public.

Must be a new tactic he’s trying out. If he was intent on doxxing every famous person who’s called him a jackass, as Graham did last night on CNN, he would have started selling maps to Jon Stewart’s house years ago.
“He doesn’t seem like a very bright guy. He actually probably seems to me not as bright as Rick Perry. I think Rick Perry probably is smarter than Lindsey Graham,” Trump added, riffing on prior insults he had lobbed at the former Texas governor.

Then Trump transitioned to an embarrassing anecdote, which the billionaire real estate developer said was from a few years ago, in which Graham called Trump “begging” him for a good reference with Trump’s pals on the Fox News morning program “Fox & Friends.”

Trump said that he promised Graham he would put out a good word, and the South Carolina Republican then gave him his phone number to follow up.

Trump then read out what he said was Graham’s phone number, telling his supporters to “try it.”

This made me laugh:

Good point from Ace: The value of having Trump in the race, supposedly, is that he’s forcing the RINOs to address subjects they don’t want to address, like crimes committed by illegal immigrants . But he’s not doing that lately. There are endless opportunities for it — he could start talking about the Planned Parenthood nightmare or the threat to religious liberty from antidiscrimination laws — but he’d rather take potshots at McCain and Graham. I quoted this Peter Spiliakos post in an earlier thread about Trump but his key point bears repeating. “Trump’s rhetoric is about wounding people that his fans despise,” he said, not about forcing otherwise underserved issues onto the GOP’s 2016 policy plate. That’s the common thread between his comments about Mexican rapists, McCain, and now Graham.

On that note, I’ll try to predict the five camps of reaction to giving out Graham’s number:

1. The RINO had it coming/any weapon to hand, a.k.a. the Spiliakos theory: 80 percent
2. Not cool, but Obama’s done so much that’s so much worse: 10 percent
3. Not cool, but Graham started it by criticizing him: Five percent
4. Not cool, but also pretty funny and not a big deal given that it’s just a cell number and Graham can get a new one: Four percent
5. Not cool because, after all, we’d all be wetting our pants if Jeb Bush pulled this on Trump: One percent

We’ll see how I do. Exit quotation from today’s rally: “If you can’t get rich dealing with politicians, there’s something wrong with you.”

I said it before the vast majority of people - even self identified conservatives and liberals - really don't know much about the issues except in generality and even then many are not sure if they know enough to be sure. But they do gravitate towards a fighter and will back a fighter even if he/she is not of their ideological affiliation.

That's right: people are pushed around by those in authority, and we hate it.

When somebody has the strength and position to push back, and DOES push back, and hit back, in ways that are satisfying: we like that. I do.

Trump didn't just give out a cell number. He revealed a private call that Graham made to him asking him for a favor.

In Trump's story, Graham sounds like a sniveling, whiny, pathetic beggar, begging a more powerful man for a favor. That's how Trump got his cell phone number. When Graham wanted a favor, he stuck his nose up Trump's ass.

But now that Graham thinks that there's an advantage among Republican cognoscenti to pick on Trump, he does it.

By firing back with the content of personal conversations - efforts to curry favor by politicians - Trump is sending the signal loud and clear that he will not treat any conversation with any politician who ever sought a favor from him as confidential or privileged. Trump is running for President, and he's doing it against the will of the Republican party.

So many Republican politicians have begged for favors from the rich man - the GOP is a crony capitalist party, and Trump is a crony capitalist.

The rich cronies have not gone onto the GOP ticket before seeking power. This one is, and it's alarming. After all, if the public will actually ELECT the crony capitalists directly, what need is there for any of these high-school- class-president politicians who specialized in politics, not making money?

Graham is a weak, effeminate little man, a pit Yorkie barking at a New York mogul. Graham was a joke waiting to be told, but out of "respect" nobody told it. But Graham shot off his mouth to ridicule Trump. And Trump shot back. And truth is, Trump is a more believable character, and has greater gravitas even, than Graham. Graham was never going to be President anyway. Neither will Pataki. Or Perry. Or any of these other also rans.

The only Republicans who have any shot of being President are Jeb, Walker and Trump.

The ankle-biters are there to dilute the realm so that Jeb emerges. That's the strategy. It's all choreographed. But Trump is messing up the dance.

The effect of having Trump in the game is that it's going to quickly wipe out the also-rans. He'll be the most interesting and entertaining. And he won't be RESPECTFUL when they treat him with disrespect. He will go after them and ridicule them.

I like that.

That is lady graham. But anyone paying attention for the last decade would already know this. LOL

My 2 least favorite people in the senate! McCrazy and Lady Graham. When Specter and Snow left I was happy but these guys double down on being a traitor.
