McCain: Illegal Aliens ‘Deprived’ of the ‘Rights of Our Citizens’

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) spoke at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' 2014 National Migration Conference on July 9, 2014 in Washington, D.C. (CNSNews.com/Penny Starr)

(CNSNews.com) – Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told attendees at a migration conference Wednesday that the 11 million illegal aliens living in the United States are being “deprived” of rights, including the rights enjoyed by U.S. citizens. “To have 11 million people living in the shadows of this country is an unacceptable situation, and to deprive them of the rights – of the human rights, much less the rights of our citizens, which unfortunately happens everyday, is not acceptable in the greatest nation on earth,” McCain said at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) 2014 National Migration Conference in Washington, D.C.

McCain was one of the “Gang of Eight” in the Senate to sponsor the Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Bill, or S.744. The Senate passed the bill – which called for a pathway to citizenship for certain illegal aliens -- in June 2013, but the House has not taken it up or alternative immigration legislation this term.

Speaking to hundreds of people whose work involves migrants and refugees around the world and in the U.S., including USCCB’s Migration and Refugee Services, the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Catholic Charities USA, Catholic Relief Services and the International Catholic Migration Commission, McCain touted “comprehensive immigration reform.”“I believe in comprehensive immigration reform for all the reasons you do and more,” McCain said. “I believe in comprehensive immigration reform, because I think it’s a great boost to our economy.

“I can show you statistics by the Congressional Budget Office of dramatic increase in Social Security Trust Fund and increases in revenue,” McCain said. “The GDP will go up.”

Aside from “compelling economic reasons,” McCain said comprehensive immigration reform would help the estimated 11 million illegal aliens in the U.S.

“I also support [immigration reform] for all the same reasons that you do,” McCain said. “That to have 11 million people living in the shadows of this country is an unacceptable situation, and to deprive them of the rights – of the human rights, much less the rights of our citizens, which unfortunately happens every day, is not acceptable in the greatest nation on earth,” McCain said.

During his remarks, McCain stated repeatedly that the U.S. border with Mexico should be secured and that the flow of immigrants entering illegally had to be stopped.

“We can secure our border,” McCain said. “We have the technology to do so.”

What a bloody idiot!!!

To have a utter idiot like McStain occupying a seat in the US Senate is an unacceptable situation. I hope to God that the people of Arizona get their heads out of their rear ends, and retire this moron!!

This statement by the stain should help heal some of the crap that Trump has stirred up! I think most thinking people should on balance realize that war hero or not, Stain HAS done a lot of damage to the country, and is an idiot!

“We can secure our border,” McCain said. “We have the technology to do so.” -- John McCain

One of the problems he leaves out is the budget to get things done right. He would rather advocate the delivery of military arms to ISIS to ensure there is NOT enough money to safeguard our borders while ensuring that ISIS continues its mission creep for the destruction of the USA.

So, as citizens we have McCain fighting hard for billions of military weaponry for ISIS in the ME while never fighting for a thin dime to guard our own soverign borders.

Not many see his evil plot; he must have been brainwashed by the North Vietnamese; and still, Americans vote for the disqusting rat.

The number is closer to 50 million than we are being told. Over one million sneak in a year, in 1990 Bush the 1st used the number 11-15 million illegals. Add 25 million estimated to have snuck in in 25 years, bump it because govt always underestimates bad stuff, and 50 mil sounds about right. Imagine the roads being less clogged, more jobs, higher wages, lower govt spending, lower prices for medical, lower prices on land and housing, better education, no press 1 for english, aisles of Walmart emptied.... sounds great to me.

IF ONLY they DID live in shadows -- I dunno WHAT meds Stain is snorting, shooting, or poppin'. The illegal invaders out in the open, cashing in their EBTs, checks, and shopping while on their 0blablaPhones, shoving along their strollers and three other toddlers.

And the number is closer to 40 mil, NOT the fake 11 mil number used since 9/11.

Fifty million is a lot closer to reality than the 11 million lie constantly shoved down our throats.

Today's media performs a disservice to American objective reporting efforts. Could it be the history of the CIA infiltrating foreign & domestic newspapers in order to become a mouthpiece for government propaganda?

Colonel McCain's concepts of economics are a bit vague. Apparently he didn't pay much attention to lectures on the subject in navy flight school. In his own mind he makes up for the incoherence of his assertions in the aggressiveness and loudness of his delivery of his message.

According to JD Rockafeller, the media deserved his public gratitude for subverting the truth and "news."

To quote Dr. Isaac Asimov, "People are stupid." If you're going to try to accomplish anything of consequence, you have 15% of the population of sufficient intelligence to work with.

Congress is infested with rats playing the same game as McCain and aiding Obama in his Marxist/islamic revolution. There's no way to get rid of them through the election polling booths. Idiots keep voting them back in.

Apparently he didn't pay much attention to lectures on the subject in navy flight school.

Not paying attention had to be a characteristic of his, judging by his three flying mishaps prior to ever deploying to SEA. The first time he claimed his engine quit, when he crashed an AD-6 (A-1H) into Corpus Christi Bay. Cockpit instruments frozen at the time of impact showed the engine was still producing power, and the accident investigation found: "In the opinion of the board, the pilot's preoccupation in the cockpit … coupled with the use of a power setting too low to maintain level flight in a turn were the primary causes of this accident."

Sure helped being an admiral's son.

Sure helped being an admiral's son.

Being a continual screw-up is easy when your daddy is an admiral. Any attempts to hold him accountable generates problems in making you accountable for not making excuses or writing glowing mythical descriptions of his job performance. McCain had no business in an airplane. The best he could hope to be on the basis of his ability and seriousness was supervising running a soup kitchen in a basic training outfit. As it was, he retired a hero with two Captain's buzzards on his shoulders. Such is life.
