One man is dead and several injured in an Islamic State (IS) terror attack on a factory in Grenoble, France. There are reports of a loud explosion at the factory and at least two attackers carrying Islamist flags.

Sources said two men rammed the factory in a car before setting off explosive devices. A decapitated body has been discovered.

The murdered man’s head is understood to have been found 30 feet away from his body, hanging on the factory’s fence. The dead man’s head was covered in Arabic ‘inscriptions’ before being placed on the fence, according to local journalists at the scene.

A 30-year-old man who was known to security services since at least 2008 has been arrested, telling police officers that he is a member of the Islamic State terror group. The man is believed not to have a criminal record but was considered to have ‘possibly been radicalised’.

Air Products, the American company targeted in the attack has 21,000 employees, according to its website, and sold industrial gases including nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said he would go “immediately” to the scene.

According to regional daily Le Dauphiné Libéré, the attacker entered the factory, owned by company Air Products in the town of Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, claiming he belonged to IS. The report states the man opened gas bottles and set off an explosion. The newspaper also said that one victim was decapitated and several others injured.

The attack comes six months after the Charlie Hebdo attack and the three-day siege in Paris during which 17 people were killed.

ISIS is coordinating the attack in France, the beach massacre in Tunisia and the bombing of a Shi'ite mosque in Kuwait.

Tunisia and Kuwait are new fronts for ISIS, surely intended to demonstrate ISIS has a longer reach than just Syria and Iraq. They hope this will aid their recruiting and fire up potential young jihadis to fight for the Caliphate, wherever they are.

Kuwait is interesting. Good standing armed forces, good internal security and police. Happy citizens. IS will focus on the foreign 'slave labor' of course. That is their staple. Kuwait also encourages a path to citizenship for foreign workers to convert to Islam. Wages go up, and gov't bennies too. So IS will exploit that.

Kuwait also has an internal ISIS fifth column, wealthy Kuwaitis who provided a great deal of funding for ISIS in Syria/Iraq.

Kuwait is a cesspool. We should have deposed the Kuwaiti royal family when we chased Saddam out.

"Native" Kuwaitis don't do a lick of work. The majority of their labor force is from foreign countries. Including the West.

For Tunisia, I directly blame Clinton, Obama and all the NATO states that participated in the overthrow of Qaddafi which allowed Islamists to be armed and have a safe haven to sally forth from.

France, the Gulf Arab states and the USA are doubly to blame for seeking the overthrow of Syria's Assad regime which plays a part in ISIS's rise as well.

Following the decades of the Saudis exporting Wahhabism throughout the region and around the world, we cannot be certain this would not have happened even without some outside encouragement and funding (Saudis, Qataris, Turks, French/Brit intel).

But, yes, overall I agree. The unrest in Ukraine was as avoidable as the terrible blunders with Egypt and their tragic "Arab Spring". And Serbia/Kosovo remain a mess.

It points to the western foreign policy imperialists don't care what wreckage emerges from their policies as long as the empire advances and does so stealthily (never admitting the west has an empire in the first place).

PS: The Bosnia/Kosovo war set the stage for all this, post Cold War. It not only set Russia against the west but it signaled the continued western policy of using jihadis to covertly undermine nations that stand in the way of this western ephemeral empire.

I blame Putin.

The Russians aren't exactly fond of Muslim extremism or anything like a Caliphate. They have too much of a problem close to home in restive provinces like Chechnya.

Blaming Putin in one simple sentence was the proper response to your DNC talking points.

Putin is a bit player in the various conflicts across the Mideast. He helps Assad some but I notice he hasn't gone all out to keep that little naval base.

I'm not sure Russia can project that much power beyond its own borders these days.

How is blaming what Obama and Clinton did a DNC talking point??? Listen, foreign policy is for the big boys - you go on and watch your reality shows, pumpkin and leave this topic to others.

Somehow, it isn't as convincing after the procession of midgets like Prez Xlinton/Bush/Obola and now Xlinton v. Bush for 2016. Not to mention the depressing records of their secretaries of state like Allbright or Hitlery or Lurch.

I have attacked all presidents from Carter to the present Obama for the USA being allied with jihadists - before - during and after 9/11. Many Americans just can't process that disturbing fact - especially if they have a president they hold in high regard like Reagan. Because I attack Reagan for Afghanistan they assume I must be some Democrat when I point out it was a policy begun under Carter.
