The month of May approached an all-time high for homicides in the city of Baltimore.

With 43 reported homicides last month, May 2015 counts the most in more than 40 years, according to the Baltimore Sun recordkeeping.

City records online only date back to 2011, show the most homicides committed in a one-month span of time peak at 27. The five deadliest months since 1970, according to the Sun, include:

Homicides by Month December 1971: 44 August 1972: 45 August 1990: 42 August 1996: 39 May 2015: 43 U.S. Census Bureau estimates put Baltimore’s population around 622,000, down 31 percent from about 906,000 in 1970.

Homicides rose in May as arrests plummeted, which some attribute to increased scrutiny of police following the April death of Freddie Gray from injuries received in police custody, according to The Associated Press.

Unfortunately for Bob Celeste, being a LEO isn't about a popularity contest. It never was. Every time police investigate and arrest for any crime, it's a trade off. The victims become friends... the perps become enemies... (and then some spend every waking moment posting YELLA articles while scorned).

"The month of May approached an all-time high for homicides in the city of Baltimore."

Given that there are no marches, lootings or riots, I assume all the victims were white?

Just kidding. Year to date, Baltimore has 119 homocides. 106 of the victims were black. That works out to 90%.

Black lives matter? What a joke.

Those lives clearly 'don't matter' to liberals.

This isn't even considered a story on MSNBC.

Black lives will matter when they matter to other blacks. Black on black crime is what we see... and it's not really about color, it's about zero honor amongst criminals. They will kill each other quicker than killing non criminals. Hell, 90% of those Deckard defends would kill Deckard for the 20 Dolla bill in his wallet so they can buy the crack rock that Deckard champions for them.

It's Mother Nature at work... natural selection.

The numbers in the morgue don't lie.

Sometimes a particular city, county or even country has to lay down in the 'bed they make' to realize their error. Error that leads to more death.

Baltimore will become the anarchy Obolo needs to create his federal brown shirts to quell.

I’d say there is no question that we are now seeing the nation’s two-decades-long decline in the crime rate is over.

The morning question is Baltimore being asked is how many people were shot last night. May was recorded as the most violent month in the city in the past 15 years. Homicides in Milwaukee were up 180% over the same time period last year. In St Louis, the shootings were up 39%. Shooting incidents are up 500% in an East Harlem precinct when compared to last year.

I could go on, on and on. However, all reports would reflect the same brutal facts. So I will stop here and ask: When it gets to a point where the cops are backing off and don’t seem to care anymore because their political bosses don’t support them and people start to ridicule them, then what comes next?

I have a good feeling that we shall soon learn the answer…

It's been over. The government slants its stats like they do the unemployment rates.

I've policed from 1994 to 2014... and in no year did my department make fewer arrest than the year before... and our complaint numbers TRIPLED between 1994 and 2014.

From what they post, I would doubt that. Their support, from their posts, seem to be support for local law enforcement and not federal power grabs.

In fact, the created anarchy of grouping some bad cops as all cops are bad, just fuels the federalie power grab. "We are the federal government and we are here to help." Frightening words.

So the meme is to nueter local law and order, allow riots to occur so fed.gov can swoop in to maintain 'order.' It is the historic power grab of Marxists and Progressives.

I've seen them support ALL types of law enforcement more than once. In fact, particularly in misterwhites (and to a lesser case in Gatlins), I've seen direct support for the progressive ideas that majorities can pass 'laws' (that must be enforced), -- laws that are in direct opposition to our bill of rights, on the theory that state and local govts have that power.

I don't think they are Marxists, but they are at least progressive sympathizers.

Who are 'they' in your statement above? I did not make the connection between any posters as Marxists or Progressives...I modified fed.gov as doing such...specifically the Obolo regime.

Since it is almost exclusively thugs killing thugs, who cares? It may be the only public benefit act these people ever perform.

I'm not emotionally concerned about any color (I'm equal opportunity) criminals killing themselves... I'll leave that up to the soft over sympathetic liberals, like Piricles. I'm concerned over the tax payer cost of cleaning that shit up... and investigating the incident.

It has to be less than what it costs to support them "in the wild",never mind what it costs to support them while locked up and having to pay for professional babysitters.

BTW,PLEASE don't anyone misunderstand me on this issue.

While it is true that I,and everyone else that pays taxes, should want/demand our government be concerned about economically sound budgets, that is NOT my prime concern. My prime concern, and IMHO what should be the prime concern of all other Americans is that our various levels of government operate with JUSTICE as their prime concern. In short,a homeless drug addict or drunk,or even a child rapist should face the same legal system and consequences as a sitting US President,a US Senator,or a police chief.

If you do the crime and are found guilty by a jury of your peers, you serve your time or are put to death at the discretion of the JURY OF CITIZENS,NOT the government.

We are either all equal in the eyes of the law,or none of us are equal.

Ain't saying that any child rapist that gets me on his jury ain't in a heap of trouble if the state can prove it's case, though
