Opinions/Editorials Title: Have You Noticed: LF Stats are Skewed? For almost any article on LF, anymore, there are thousands of views. Have you noticed? For a wee little chit-chat channel on the out-skirts of the Internet with little meaningful existence, the stats are of no significance anymore as the views/posts ratio are dramatically skewed into absurdity. (#0) ....views/posts ratio are dramatically skewed into absurdity. Yeah. What IS that all about?
#27. To: Liberator, A K A Stone (#17) What IS that all about? Beats me. Stone should be able to answer your question. He is the "keeper of the keyes."
#30. To: buckeroo (#27) Is this one skewed. It has 125 thousand views. libertysflame.com/cgi-bin...cgi?ArtNum=13043&Disp=286
#58. To: A K A Stone, Pinguinite (#30) Is this one skewed. It has 125 thousand views. Interesting to see so many page views on some threads. That seems excessive, beyond what you'd expect from the search spiders. Perhaps it should be looked at more if it's using up your bandwidth.
#69. To: TooConservative (#58)
The 125K views is surprising, but it was posted in 2010, so that comes to less than 2K per month. The servers BW allotment easily covers the current load so I'm not worried right now.
#70. To: Pinguinite (#69) You have to wonder when the traffic occurred, since 2010 or a burst of pageviews more recently. Maybe someone is linking to these these threads for some reason.
#72. To: TooConservative (#70) Maybe someone is linking to these these threads for some reason. Yea...."maybe."
#74. To: Gatlin (#72) Yea...."maybe." Seems a little paranoid when there are other possible and even likely possibilities. You do have kind of a thing for a few members of the forum like Deckard and buckeroo. Your hostility to them is unrelenting, almost habitual. So, of course, your suspicions naturally turn toward them. Neil would have to use a log analyzer utility to build up stats on LF's web log, based on time and IP addresses. It's the only way to learn more. He seems satisfied with the situation as is.
#80. To: TooConservative (#74) (Edited) Your hostility to them is unrelenting, almost habitual. Nah, retaliatory is the proper description. And I am not hostile...I carry no prejudiced, spiteful or malevolent ill will. On the contrary....I am friendly, favorable, well-disposed well-meaning and non threatening in my retaliation.
#81. To: Gatlin (#80) What you have are accusations, not evidence. There are plenty of other ways to write scripts or compile programs to scrape a site or generate hits. You're way too focused on this Million Clicks thing. You might recall that I demonstrated back at LP how easy it is to roll up a short Bash script to do such things. Easy enough that anyone can do it, especially Linux users and Mac people who run an OS that comes with all the needed tools (which Windows mostly lacks out of the box).

I like your explanation better. It seems easier.
