Rev. Al Sharpton called for the Justice Department to “take over policing in this country” and stated “we’re going to have to fight states’ rights” in comments recorded by the Baltimore Sun on Thursday. Sharpton said, “we need the Justice Department to step in and take over policing in this country. In the 20th century, they had to fight states’ rights in — to get the right to vote. We’re going to have to fight states’ rights in terms of closing down police cases.” He added, “police must be held accountable. I don’t think all police are bad. I don’t even think most are bad. But those that are need to be held accountable.”

The US Justice dept already moved on Seattle police last year after several "incidents" deemed civil rights violations by Police. Of course no civil rights charges were filed by the Feds, but they began training of cops, with supervision and guidelines made mandatory by their decree. Of course Washington State also had the State Supreme Court rule that they would raise taxes for education, if the Legislature didn't "fully fund" education. No definition of what fully funded means, or mention that the Judicial has no authority to levy taxes, but HEY.....isn't it better this way?
