U.S. Constitution Title: Marijuana Is Not, Repeat Not, a Gateway Drug With states legalizing marijuana by popular vote, some politicians, including Boston mayor Marty Walsh and New Jersey governor Chris Christie, are still calling marijuana a gateway drug. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Marijuana Is Not, Repeat Not, a Gateway Drug Just because you say it or epeat it doesnt make it true. in a 2014 article, neuroscientist Dr Jodi Gilman reported that even a little marijuana use was associated with “exposure-dependent alterations of the neural matrix of core reward systems” in the brains of young marijuana users. This represents one of the most profound and accepted principles of psychology.
#2. To: buckeroo (#0) Of course it is.
#3. To: Biff Tannen (#2) Beer is the gateway drug. The D&R terrorists hate us because we're free, to vote second party![]() #4. To: buckeroo (#0) Marijuana Is Not, Repeat Not, a Gateway Drug
There are some people who tell you this. Who is telling you this and why they are telling you this is something to be carefully considered. While someone may adopt the line of thinking that gateway drugs don’t cause hardcore drug use, they cannot argue that the use may pique the curiosity in those who have a predisposition for addition or risk-taking behavior.
There are those who tell you marijuana is not dangerous while others tell you that you are set into a pattern of self-destructive behavior when the use of the lower level drug marijuana is being used.
Unfortunately, there is no test to determine someone’s likelihood of developing an addiction to drugs or moving on up to hard drugs while using marijuana. Consequently, using marijuana can be a game of Russian roulette. Meaning you will never know that you may become an addict moving on up to harder drugs with a potentially deadly issue until you do….and then it is too late.
Show me a pot smoker that does not use cocaine or heroin….and I will believe you. On the other hand, show me cocaine or heroin user who has not used marijuana….and I will never believe you.
Using marijuana is not the healthiest choice, so using harder drugs is just an unhealthier option. The best bet is not to start, then you never have to worry about not being able to stop. It is best to stop if you have started, then you never have to worry whether “marijuana is, or is not, a gateway drug.”
#5. To: hondo68, Biff Tannen (#3) Beer is the gateway drug. Of course beer is. The gateway drug theory is often attributed to the earlier use of one of several licit substances, including alcohol, tobacco….as well as marijuana.
The hypothesis is that alcohol, tobacco and marijuana leads to the use of the hard drugs. This is easily understandable since it is based on the observation that those who use cocaine or heroin have previously used marijuana….while most have used alcohol or tobacco.
The risk factor for using drugs in cannabis users may be higher because few people try hard drugs prior to trying cannabis.
#6. To: Biff Tannen (#2) Marijuana Is Not, Repeat Not, a Gateway Drug No... but marihuana gives officers gateway PC to search for narcotics. Every meth, coke, heroine and opiate slave also smokes weed. Smelling that stinky weed helps LE find lots of better drugs. lol Every society gets the kind of criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on. Robert Kennedy #7. To: Gatlin, buckeroo (#4) While someone may adopt the line of thinking that gateway drugs don’t cause hardcore drug use, they cannot argue that the use may pique the curiosity in those who have a predisposition for addition or risk-taking behavior. Marijuana is not a gateway drug. You drug warriors have been peddling that propaganda since the sixties. Oh, one more thing - you're a clown. “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.Paul Craig Roberts#8. To: Deckard (#7) Oh, one more thing - you're a clown. There are those who fear clowns. The term coulrophobia has been coined to describe this fear. Since you obviously fear me, it is important to know….how long have you suffered from coulrophobia?

To: buckeroo (#0) "The authors found that criminalization of marijuana didn’t reduce use ..." Meaning that if marijuana was legal, use would not increase? Who believes that?
#11. To: Biff Tannen (#2) Only if your dealer is also selling bootleg quaaludes or blotter acid.
#12. To: Gatlin (#4) I know dozens of people who would never smoke pot that are hooked on xanax and oxycodone.
#13. To: Gatlin (#8) There are those who fear clowns. You will too after you watch the movie: "Killer Klowns From Outer Space".
#14. To: Logsplitter (#12) I know dozens of people who would never smoke pot that are hooked on xanax and oxycodone. "Bless their hearts"...
#15. To: Logsplitter (#12) I know dozens of people who would never smoke pot that are hooked on xanax and oxycodone. Those drugs OK because because they are sanctioned and approved by fed.gov. #17. To: Biff Tannen (#16) Where's the BEEF?
#18. To: buckeroo (#17) It's an intoxicant, buckeroo. As such, those who enjoy it will likely give some other intoxicant that crosses their path a try. Someone tries getting drunk and enjoys themselves. If they have nothing particular against drugs perhaps they give weed a try. Quite different, they find. I wonder what some of these other drugs are like, they might think. Perhaps some coke, maybe some acid, whatever else is out there these days. It's the way these things can go, and often do. Gateway.

I wonder what some of these other drugs are like, they might think. Perhaps some coke, maybe some acid, whatever else is out there these days. Gotcha. Laws must legislate morality at all levels, correct?
#20. To: buckeroo (#19) Of course I never mentioned the law, but you go one being you I'll check in next year and see how things are doing.
#21. To: Biff Tannen (#20) Of course But society changes all the time with the law attempting to readjust moral restraints. It's kinda like having yukon shove his ass in our faces.
I'll check in next year and see how things are doing. Sure.
