They count them behind closed doors where the citizens can't inspect the process. They have said that the software running the vote rigging machines is a trade secret. So the reason some people don't want to participate is because they are convinced it is a fraud. Why not have a vote that is traceable. How about paper ballots. If that happened I believe more people would be willing to vote.
I'd gladly participate in a political system where traitors like you, and other lemming-like Republicans, were hunted down and beaten silly with Louisville sluggers.
Do you think for a minute a global crime enterprise like the one whose heel we're under would allow Ron Paul to dismantle it? We had a paper ballot for years and the vote still was rarely over 50% of those eligible, so I don't see that option as much of a panacea. That said, I've never been a big fan of this electronic voting scheme...there should always be a paper back-up so we can confirm the votes if need be. That's what we have here in my county, and I don't think we're getting scammed...MUD
