Title: Police Trash 90-Year-Old Woman’s Home in Search for Nonexistent Drugs

Department defends raid that produced zero evidence

The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, detailed to CBS Miami the moment that Riviera Beach Police threw a flash bang grenade into her home.

“I don’t know how the cops got in here,” the woman said. “The noise woke me up when something said boom! Like a bomb or something.”

After breaking through her front door and shattering several windows, police began demanding access to an alleged drug supply.

“Cops standing over here talking about where’s the drugs? I said what? What drugs? Ain’t no drugs in here,” she said.

Police claim they obtained a warrant after witnessing criminal activity at the woman’s home.

After searching the residence with drug sniffing dogs, police were unable to produce any evidence of criminal activity.

The woman, who has lived at the home for more than 25-years, says she has never been arrested once in her entire life.

“I’ve never been arrested, never been in jail,” she said.

Police refuted the woman’s claim that the raid was carried out on the wrong home and stated that even if she was unaware of drug dealing, “it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.”

Although claiming to be justified, the department and city have promised to replace her door and windows by the end of the month.

No-knock drug raids have become commonplace among American law enforcement despite their often disastrous results for innocent bystanders and even police.

In a somewhat similar situation, police defended a drug raid last year that put a Georgia toddler into a coma after a flash bang grenade blew a hole in his chest.

The article didn't document the time, date, location, alleged victim, the police department... anything. Just that an Anonymous person claimed an anonymous PD violated her rights.

I can't even research this.

Why are these types of articles allowed posted?

Nah, Circuit Court Judge Edward Rogers is on top of it. He even started a SPECIAL Saturday Drug Court in Riviera Beach, Florida.

I wish someone had been on top of this to prevent it from happening:

11-year-old shot in the stomach in Riviera Beach.

An 11-year-old boy remained hospitalized Friday after he heard gunshots, stepped outside his home and was shot in the stomach.

The father and grandmother of the boy, a fifth-grader, were at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where the boy was listed in critical but stable condition, the family said.

The boy's father told WPEC-Ch.12 that the boy went outside to get his 13- year-old sister, after he heard gunshots in his neighborhood. When the boy walked back inside his home, he dropped to the floor.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday in the 2900 Block of Avenue F, which is just east of Old Dixie Highway in Riviera Beach.

The shooting remains under investigation.

I've tried researching it. Everyone is tight lipped about it.

It looks like the jurisdiction is a drug infested shit hole.

Riviera Beach police using armored truck to keep 'eye' on crime

Surveillance truck camped out in neighborhood

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - A Riviera Beach neighborhood is under close police watch and officers are not being shy about how - or why - their surveillance tactics have been rolled in. The department is going high-tech to combat dangerous crimes.

A mid-August murder on the streets of Riviera Beach is the reason why the neighborhood is currently under surveillance.

"You don't know where we are, but we know where you are," said Maj. Leonard B. Mitchell of the Riviera Beach Police Department.

The police force recently introduced 'The Eye' as the department's newest high-tech crime-fighting tool. These days, 'The Eye' is watching from the corner of Avenue O and West 26th Court.

"We've gotten intelligence that something may be happening in the neighborhood," said Maj. Mitchell.

Police are keeping their eye out for potential criminal activity related to that August 15 murder. A 19-year-old was shot and killed. Another man was injured by gunfire.

"This truck is solid. You can't move it," said Mitchell.

The armored former Brinks truck is bullet-resistant. It has been retro- fitted with cameras and other equipment linked directly to police headquarters.

It is also nearly impossible not to realize that someone is being watched. That, police say, is exactly why - and how - this watchful 'eye' may be working.

"We're letting them know that you're going to stand your ground and not let it happen," Mitchell said.

Police say the truck itself was a bargain. Brinks gave it to the department for just $10. The equipment inside was paid for with grants.
