Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) smoked pot when he was a teenager, Cruz's campaign has confirmed with The Hill.

ADVERTISEMENTgoogletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display("dfp-ad-mosad_1");});
The Daily Mail first reported that Cruz had used the drug.

"Teenagers are often known for their lack of judgment, and Sen. Cruz was no exception," a Cruz spokesman told the British paper. "When he was a teenager, he foolishly experimented with marijuana. It was a mistake, and he's never tried it since."

The admission makes Cruz the latest presidential candidate to own up to trying the drug. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) recently copped to smoking pot while in high school as well.

Ted Cruz smoked pot as a teen

But did he "inhale" when smoking weed....should we need to know that?

And, are libertarians just Republicans who smoke pot?

Read: Mark Davis: Fellow libertarians, you lose me on weed.

Neither Bush or Cruz ever had brains enough to fill a teaspoon, and still don't. I don't imagine it did them much damage.

He had to be stoned to get that tattoo of Winston Churchill.

A loyal British Canadian subject, eh?.

Read: Mark Davis: Fellow libertarians, you lose me on weed.

What a joke!

That guy is as much of a libertarian as Maher.

Not only is he wrong on marijuana legalization, his views on foreign policy place him squarely in the neocon camp.

Apparently at least one commenter there agrees with me :

Sorry mate, you're not a libertarian and will never be close to becoming one. You're a neocon.

The argument of alcohol vs marijuana is absolutely baffling. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Go back to the Jerry Falwell praising, Bush apologist camp! We don't need freedom haters and constitution stompers like you!

In Gatlin's version of America - all tattoos will be licensed and approved by the state.

As did half the population.

Nobody should care.

But we SHOULD carefully watch the people who DO care.

In Gatlin's version of America - all tattoos will be licensed and approved by the state.

In my version of America, tattoos represent poor judgment and therefore are negatively stereotyped for good reason. They are negatively stereotyped because 99.9% of them look trashy and/or out-of-place on the natural human body. One of the biggest reasons why they are negatively stereotyped, is that they distract from then wearers "presence" and therefore are considered a nuisance.

What I see in someone with a highly-visible, gaudy tattoo is that they were so unhappy with what nature gave them that they felt they had to out and augment it somehow. Tattoos limit a person’s opportunities in life because of their negative connotations and associations...40% of companies will not hire a person with tattoos. When I see a person with a tattoo, I see the tattoo, not the person.

The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery estimates there were about 96,000 tattoo removal procedures last year, a 52 percent increase over 2013. According to a British survey, more than a third of people who get inked start to regret it after about 14 years. Buy stock now in tat-removal techs and business!

Gatlin approved tattoo...

Nah, this meets my approval....a tattoless back:

When see a tattoo, I assume the person has some deep-seated psychological trauma they seek a poor outlet for by trying to express some sentiments via ink. Or, they may be seeking some way to control some PTSD by going through a painful process of getting a tattoo. I have never look at a person with a tattoo and said: Wow, you really have it all together!

Then you have the subvarieties of tattooees. Tattoos fully visible all the time or the sneaky tattooee who hides their tattoos, etc.

That must really suck for you when you think someone "has it all together" and then after a period of time find out they have a tattoo that you couldn't see.

Maybe you could try judging people on their character and actions rather than whether or not they meet your capricious and antiquated opinion of what is prim and proper.

If I don't see it, then I don't know it's there. If I don’t know it’s there, then how could that possibly bother me? It could not. Your logic is badly flawed.

Maybe you could try judging people on their character and actions rather than whether or not they meet your capricious and antiquated opinion of what is prim and proper.

You missed the point - as usual.

Does your brain explode when you find out someone who you think "has it all together" reveals a tattoo?

How does your pea-sized brain reconcile your shattered illusions?

Do us all a favor - next time you see a guy with one of these, go up and tell him that he "has some deep-seated psychological trauma and is seeking a poor outlet for it by trying to express some sentiments via ink" then sarcastically say to him : "Wow, you really have it all together!"

When I see someone all decked out in ink something like this:

I am judging the person by their character and actions..

Me too.

And it so rarely looks artful in any way.

Now and then, I like reading an article about how some idiot got some Japanese tattoo (stylish to some people) that supposedly has some profound wisdom and then they find out from someone who speaks Japanese that their tattoo says something like "I'm a smelly moron" or similar. Also, I've seen a couple of those "Tattoos Gone Bad" shows where people are making themselves miserable trying to cover up tattoos of old girlfriends' names or similar.

NYSlimes, 2006

SHAD MAGNESS wanted to celebrate the love he felt for his young son with a grand gesture.

At a Los Angeles tattoo parlor four years ago, he had two Chinese characters etched in a prominent spot on his left forearm. He assumed that the translation in the sample book the tattoo artist showed him — "one love" — was correct.

The first sign of trouble came six months later, when Mr. Magness was shopping at a Staples store and the checkout clerk informed him that the characters on his arm meant not "one love" but "love hurts."

Mr. Magness consulted some bilingual co-workers, who confirmed the bad news: his tattoo did indeed trumpet the pain of failed love.

For more tattoo schadenfreude, check out BadTattoos.com and similar sites.

A bad Marilyn tattoo which has its own bad tattoos:

Won't that look sweet if she wears a little black cocktail dress or a sun dress?
