Title: Ted Cruz to Scuttle NASA Climate Change Programs

Rabid climate change denier Sen. Ted Cruz, new chairman of the Senate subcommittee in charge of overseeing NASA, has told the space agency to focus on space exploration and not on "political distractions that are extraneous to NASA's mandate" such as climate change.

Cruz's chairmanship of the subcommittee is setting off a panic among environmental groups that are seriously concerned the Texas senator will do what he can to impede NASA research into climate change. Cruz has said his priority is to reinvigorate U.S. space exploration, which means NASA programs monitoring climate change will be placed on the back burner.

NASA, however, is a champion in the global fight against climate change and has 12 orbiting satellites monitoring the Earth for climate change and all aspects of the Earth system, including oceans, land, atmosphere, biosphere and cryosphere. It plans to launch several more Earth observation satellites in the next few years.

Republicans are also offended the International Space Station has been at the mercy of Russia and its fleet of supply spacecraft since the U.S. retired its space shuttle fleet in 2011.

Besides, it'll be much less expensive and more efficient when Tea Party Ted downsizes and outsources NASA to the Chinese Communists instead.

No wonder I despise these double-talking frauds.

You despise him based on something you believe he will do?

That doesn't make sense Willy.

Besides the constitution says the government can't establish a religion. That is what global alarmist warming is all about.

From Politifact:

David Dewhurst says Ted Cruz represents a Chinese company found guilty of stealing U.S. blueprints

Cruz is representing a Chinese firm found liable for stealing blueprints. We rate Dewhurst’s claim as Mostly True.

Besides the constitution says the government can't establish a religion. That is what global alarmist warming is all about.
And Ted Cruz' only "True Religion" is Free Trade Uber Alles. His anti-government, obstructionist malarky serves the interests of his Red China clientele, and there is little doubt that he would transfer our national security technology to them for 30 pieces of silver.

Free Traders are judas goats.

His anti-government,

What did Ted Cruz do that you consider anti government?

What did Ted Cruz do that you consider anti government?

He made a mockery of Senate debate by reading Dr. Seuss to fillibuster a bill to raise the government debt limit, resulting in the first decline in our nation's credit rating in history.

Our country's credit rating is something that the free market should decide based on our actual capability to pay our debts. Not because a numbnut like Cruz arbitrarily wants to defund and shut down the government.... Defund and shut down our government for the benefit of his Chinese benefactors, no doubt.

While he was in private practice at a law firm.

Lawyers often take clients they dislike or disapprove of.

I don't think you understand the legal canons and ethics. A guiding principle is that every client, especially the guilty ones, deserve competent legal representation by an attorney.

Dewhurst made plenty of scurrilous charges against Cruz. Threw anything he could find against the wall to generate FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) about him.

Plenty of other senators have done the same thing during a filibuster. A pity they don't do it more often.

The 16th is unconstitutional, imho. (It's enforcement violates many of our individual rights) And that is far more than inconvenient. Laughing out loud about such things is not patriotic, it's more like idiotic.

LOL, again!!! Well I'm sure that the SCOTUS has ruled against your opinion many times since the 16th was ratified. But when someone appoints you to the bench, maybe you'll get a chance to revisit the issue.

I think a multiparty parliamentary system could be better than what we have.

I'd also redraw state borders so that the all had rougly the same population. The population pipsqueaks don't deserve to have the same number of senators that the larger states have.

There you go my boy, -- the Senatorial system was set up, in part, to insure those checks and balances. Many of the founders were terrified of majority rule tyranny, or in other words, democracy...

Wouldn't matter to them. They think the law just has to be whatever they desire at any particular moment. How else to account for the tpreposterous claim that a portion of the Constitution is unconstimutushunal? If the Constitution was amended to replace the current congressional system with a parliamentary one, they would be howling and pissing that the amended Constitution was unconstimutushunal as well.

No, rational American citizens think that a law must conform to the our Constitution. The 'law' enabling Congress to tax income, can only be enforced by violating our 4th and 5th amendment rights.

Checkmate

"The 16th Amendment is unconstitutional"
However, Amendments ARE part of the Constitution and are therefor "constitutional" by definition.

At best tpaine has issues with one part of the constitution contradicts that another. That is merely a constitutional dilemma, not unconstitutional. He can chase his own tail on that one all he wants, but it is what it is unless they pass a different amendment to change it.
