Duke University reverses plan for bell tower Muslim call to prayer By Marti Maguire RALEIGH, N.C. Thu Jan 15, 2015 6:09pm EST (Reuters) - Duke University scrapped plans on Thursday to allow the Muslim call to prayer to emanate from its chapel bell tower, university officials said, amid fierce criticism from conservative Christians and anger from alumni. Earlier in the week, university officials said the weekly chant by Muslim students, known as the adhan, would be amplified from Duke Chapel beginning on Friday. "Duke remains committed to fostering an inclusive, tolerant and welcoming campus for all of its students," said university spokesman Michael Schoenfeld in a statement announcing the reversal. "However, it was clear that what was conceived as an effort to unify was not having the intended effect." The university, which has Methodist roots but is non-sectarian, reversed course after criticism from conservative Christians, most notably North Carolina-based evangelist Franklin Graham, who urged donors and alumni to boycott the university in a Facebook post. "As Christianity is being excluded from the public square and followers of Islam are raping, butchering, and beheading Christians, Jews, and anyone who doesn't submit to their Sharia Islamic law, Duke is promoting this in the name of religious pluralism," wrote Graham, son of well-known pastor Billy Graham, in a post that received thousands of supportive comments. The Gothic-style Duke Chapel, one of the school's best-known landmarks, is an interfaith locale where Hindu students, as well as groups from various Christian denominations, hold services. Muslim students have held Friday services in the building's basement for several years. On Friday, students will for the first time say the call to prayer marking the beginning of their service in an area outside of the chapel, Schoenfeld said. The plan to amplify the chant from the tower may be revisited at a later date, he said. Schoenfeld said the school received negative feedback from the university community, including alumni, upon announcing the amplification plans. That criticism, along with safety concerns, prompted the reversal, he said. More than 700 of Duke's nearly 15,000 students identify as Muslim, according to the university.

Muslims don't just pray one time a day, they pray five times a day, and if they can get that bell to ring just once for them, they won't stop there, they demand the bell rings for all 5 calls to their prayers. jmho~ Prayers 5 times a day. This is called Salat. Salat times refers to times when Muslims perform prayers (salat). The term is primarily used for the five daily prayers plus the Friday prayer. Nor do I think the loons will leave him in power once he served their purpose. Just how much loyalty of the military can be bought? I don't know this with any certainty but what makes you think that the King's army will back him if push came to shove? How much military help would France give him when 100,000+ of French troops are needed at home to protect the homeland from the Islamic nutsoes in France's backyard? Same for the UK. Germany, and even the U.S.

If you know Bible prophecy, you have the answer-One world government with the Anti-Christ ruling the world. The books of Ezekiel, Daniel and Revelation are a hologram. Ezekiel is from the Jewish perspective, Daniel from the world's perspective and Revelations from the Christian perspective. The minor prophets add some details here and there. The three books concern the same period of time. The Tribulation. There will be massive persecution for those who will not bow down to the Anti- Christ. We haven't seen anything yet. It is just beginning. I taught a Revelations bible class. This was years ago. I told them that the Soviet Union would fall. They couldn't believe it. 5 years later, the Soviet Union fell. It's in the book of Revelations. There will be a short-lived holocaust of the Jews. Israel will be attacked by Russia and China. It will make Hitler's holocaust look like a tea party. It will be brief, but very bloody. Then "he" will make peace with Israel, but "he" will turn on them once again. The result will be the last world war...the Battle of Armageddon.

It serves to keep him and the Saud Royal Family in position as the most influential tribal leader in the Muddle East,it keeps him and his family/country from being targets themselves,and it makes billions for him and his family. The day will come when the globalists will feel secure enough to turn the dogs loose,and retreat to their compounds while mass riots occur all over the country as the system goes bankrupt and the professional parasites who have never looked after themselves start to riot once their gubbermint checks and benefits stop,and start attacking the middle and upper-class areas of cities to get what they need. Eventually the call will go out,started by the globalists themselves,for the government to "Do something,do ANYTHING,but stop the killing and the looting and make us safe!" They will agree,Congress and the President will declare a state of Martial Law to exist and that the Bill of Rights will be suspended for the duration of the National Emergency. Somehow the National Emergency will continue to exist,and eventually the call will go out for a Constitutional Convention to be held to dissolve the current Constitution and replace it with one "more suitable for the times". One that gives the government the legal authority to "do whatever you have to do to stop the killing and rioting" because the new government won't be hampered by all that silly "Bill of Rights" stuff. The Revelations study included Ezekiel and Daniel concerning the end times. Daniel foretells here that "the king of the north" [Russia] will not only be successful in WW II, but also that he returns to his land with a great amount of goods. The only thing wrong with me ( that I know of )is I have high blood pressure, and it causes me to be short of breath, and no energy. Oh well, getting old is tuff. Beware of high blood pressure. I had an adopted son who returned to his residence and blew his brains out one night ar the age of 44. He didn't do it with a gun. His blood pressure was running about 200/100. His brain consequently exploded. It was a terrible loss. I wasn't notified until a week after his funeral. Get yours it under control. When I was 55 and 60 my BP was 122/70. I spent a lot of time at the gym doing power weight lifting, in aerobics, and playing raquetball. My doctor at the time used to laugh and say having me for a patient was like having an elephant for a patient. Now I lead a sedentary life style and my BP is getting as high as 160/90. I started going back ti a gym several months ago and got an immediate good physical response. But I can't go out in this cold weather with this heart problem.
When I was younger, cold did not both me much. Back then, I was a lineman, and would be climbing poles even in 0 degrees. Can not do that now. I try to watch my diet, avoid salt ( hard to do ). This summer, plan to get more exercise, lots of work around here, cutting up trees, garden, etc.
