Their record against the tribe the last few years hasn't been very good.

I get so sick of turning on the TV and either the Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, Giants or Dodgers are playing. I could personally care less about all of those teams and would rather watch other teams no matter what their record is.

Seems even the Mets get some national television coverage...being of course the big NY market team.

I can't remember the last time I seen the Mets play on TV, only the low/highlights on the MLB channel.

Another win last night that makes 7 straight and back to .500 which ties them with the Angels for 2nd place. Prince still having an outstanding stretch at the plate and a very good month for that matter, another starter doesn't go at least 6 innings but the pen pitched well last night (looks like they are getting back to certain guys having certain roles) and "Evis" tried blowing the game in the 9th by booting another easy ball. Martin still stinking it up at the plate, Choo needs a day off and I can't remember the last time Smolinski got a hit. Also beginning to look as if they should have left Josh in the minors for another week or so to work on his swing. I realize the OF is thin but the way DD was playing I think they could have managed without Josh till he was hitting better. If they can stay at .500 for awhile until some of the other pitchers get healthy they might be able to make a late run at the playoffs, maybe...

Yep, a 'cringe' moment. Two down and boots one. Then a walk. Tolly did not look happy at all. But he remained solid and got the last out. I picked him up last night for my fantasy team:) Who knows he may just put me over the edge and actually win a week:) I am 0-4-2 in fantasy baseball. No money in it but pride. Made the mistake on draft day of letting the auto draft pick my players. Won't do that again.

Early game today. Checked on line...Colby Lewis knocked out of the box in the second giving up 9 ERs. Bass now trying to get out of the 2nd inning. That makes three straight starts where Colby gave up 5 or more runs in a game. Hope he is not hurt.

12-2 loss today. Swisher et al. chewed up Colby in the second inning (I believe). He gave up 8 in one inning. He is trending down. Again hope he is well. It was nice being at .500 for about 12 hours:)

They have been playing pretty good so you have to expect a clunker every so often, now if they can only stay at .500 for awhile.

Maybe they should bring up one of the young SS who is playing well to get the point across to "Evis" that he needs to produce consistently not periodically. I realize he makes a boat load of money but if he doesn't get the hint then the money will be wasted, pissing him off may be the way to get thru to him.

And I guess neither could the club they optioned him back to RR and brought up Edwards.

Looks like they gave up on Peguero and traded him to the Red Sox, I will die laughing if he comes back to haunt them. I would imagine they will think about bringing someone up from the minors for a start in the slot Klein is filling. But I went and looked at some of their stats and most of them are averaging only 5 innings per start in the minors!! (What's this crap with only being able to go 5 innings)?? Or maybe have Ohlendorf make a start since he used to be a starter, BTA the pen is tired right now from 2 short starts by Klein and Lewis. May have to suffer thru another clunker to get the pen some rest, a day off about right now would be good.

Well, well, well speak of the devil they just called up Hanser Alberto who mostly plays SS but also 2nd and 3rd... Hmmmmm... Or maybe there is a trade in the works we don't know about? Would be a nice way to free up some money for another starting pitcher, Cole Hamels or Johnny Cueto would do nicely. Problem is both would be too costly oh well I can dream can't I??

Just seen that they scratched Chi Chi from his Thurs start at RR in anticipation of him starting Sat at Arlington, that is if they don't get rained out tonight.

They seem be taking up right where they left off. I would have liked to seen them win it all last year instead of the Giants. Can't stand to see the high dollar spending teams win all the time, it's nice to see the little guys win for a change.

Looking forward to seeing Chi Chi pitch. New umpire today:) We won 8-1. Sonny boy 2-2 one single and one double knocked in 4 runs. Kid pitching did great. His dad said "last game we are going on vacation." After seeing his son do so well they will delay vacation by one day and he will pitch again:) Happy dad, happy coach but wonder if the mother is happy:)

This was after Josh hit the game winning 2B they got him and her and they totally soaked her!!! $5 says that dress is in the trash by now... :) That red Powerade/Gatorade turned one of my grey jerseys a pinkish color, could never get it out. LOL...

Chi Chi did a good job took a no-no into the 5th and lasted for 5-2/3rds, kept his team in the game and gave them the chance to win which they did. Wonder how long they plan on keeping him?? Alberto doing a good job so far at the plate and in the field, DD is still doing a good job in the leadoff slot got on base 3 time Sat, Josh didn't get any hits but at least walked 2 times (so far the experiment is going alright) overall good game got them back to .500...

Now that Beltre is out for a couple of weeks wonder how they're gonna approach this?? Bring Joey up and give him a taste of the big league spot light to see how he reacts?? Or let Rosales move to 3rd and recall "Roughie" to share duties with Alberto?? (I think they'll wait till Sept on Joey being called up, Roughie has more experience).

I think he stays like Perez did in 2013 until some of the vet south paws show up. Look for Detwiler to get another shot at a start. How that goes will determine if Chi Chi goes back down. Frankly I would like to see him go down to work on using less pitches, get his walk rate down and at least endure 7 innings. Once Perez was able to do that, he was lights out. However, maybe they are taking it easier on the newbies given their experience with Perez.

I agree. Bannister is about stats and veteran experience. Rosales is inconsistent at the plate, but when he does hit, he has a very good day. He had a 4 hit game a few games ago. Wonder how Odor is doing in AAA RR? Have not heard much on him.

I've been keeping track of his progress, first 2-3 days he was bad but got his "patience" together and has been batting around .300, and close to .400 OBP since. Also has found his power 5 HRs along with cutting his Ks down to next to nothing, in fact just as many Ws as Ks. Just got done snooping around and no word on who's going to be called up yet, but ESPN Insider agrees with us no Gallo until fall!!

Yea he needs to get control of his 2nd and 3rd pitches to be more effective which means fewer wasted pitches.

As long as he doesn't have any more "issues" that will be true. Looks like his problems in CA stem from him being out of his element, I.E. he missed being in Texas and it affected his mind. He seems to be doing well since he got here all except for he hasn't caught up to any high 90s "heeters" and went yard yet. Once he does that then you can say he's back and he's dangerous, until then not so much.

Looks like we were wrong. Joey was going to go to AAA yesterday but they told him to keep his apartment for awhile longer and just bring himself to Arlington instead, heard that on Quick Pitch last night right at the end of the show. Read an article this morning that says he will go back to the minors when Beltre is healthy which they said will be 2-4 weeks. I doubt they will put him in Beltre's spot so look for him to be batting 6th or so, that way no pressure to perform. If he does 1/2 as well as Kris Bryant they may not send him back at all.

As far as I know he's still with the club (he's still on the Active Roster) so look for his next start to be in Kansas City against the Royals on Friday night. Harrison is starting his rehab assignment tomorrow which means that could last up to 30 days depending on his progress. Perez is starting his extended spring training assignment on June 5th and Holland is playing catch at 60 feet now.

Wow I missed the live version of the Joey Gallo fireworks. Was running baseball practice tonight. Joey went 3-4 single, HR, 2B, BB, one K. Knocked in 4 RBI early before the rout. Rangers win 15-2. Seen a graphic on SportsCenter about midnight where he was one of only 4 guys since 1920 whose very 1st night in the bigs went 3-4, homered and got 4 RBIs. And he was the only one who won their debut game, didn't even recognized any of the names of the other 3 and they said none of them played/lasted over 5 years. They replayed all of his ABs and only on the K did he not look good, swung at a ball in the dirt. So is last night beginners luck or the beginning of a long career, who knows but I would have to guess the later. Got to thinking about Beltre's contract and why they brought Joey up and found 2015 is the last guaranteed year, 2016 is optional. So I'm thinking that is another reason why they brought him up now when nothing was as stake. Cause if they call him up in Sept and they happen to be in the hunt for the playoffs they wouldn't be tempted to play him very much. They lost 9-2 tonight. Martinez gave up 6 ER. Tough night for him. Hope he is not burnt out with all the 100+ pitch games. Bright spot was Gallo hit another second deck dinger. I was wondering why Josh didn't play Tuesday after having Monday off and now I know why, they just announced on Quick Pitch he has a hamstring strain and will be out 3-4 weeks. (That didn't take long). Looks like he did it during that walk off double. Also explains why they wanted to see what Joey could do with his bat, looks like he's taking the place of 2 not just one.
