The Water Cooler Title: George Zimmerman taken into custody after incident with gun (CBS) - George Zimmerman has been taken into custody following an incident involving a gun, CBS News has confirmed. In a telephone interview the Lake Mary, Florida police chief says George Zimmerman is in "investigative detention" after his estranged wife, Shellie, called authorities to say he was threatening her and her parents with a gun. Lake Mary police say they were called to a house on Sprucewood Road in Central Florida.Lake Mary police spokesman Zach Hudson tells CBS affiliate WKMG police are "trying to determine what exactly happened." Police are investigating a "possible domestic battery," the Orlando Sentinel reports. The fight comes days after Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce and discussed her relationship with George Zimmerman in a TV interview. Zimmerman, 29, was acquitted of second-degree murder in the Feb. 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on July 13. The case made international news after it took police several weeks to arrest Zimmerman in the case. Poster Comment: Who needs to watch soap operas? What a maroon! Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest A convicted perjurer wouldn't lie would she? I mean she isn't doing this for some money is she? Who leaks that they are going to divorce to the media. You don't know the truth and neither do I.
#2. To: Fred Mertz (#0) Lake Mary Police say a weapon was present during the Zimmerman incident but NOT involved. #FOX35 @jorgekgonzalez @RockitBill
#3. To: A K A Stone (#1) I mean she isn't doing this for some money is she? I think you can pretty much count on that. He most likely has a little cash stash left after donations, and she wants that as well as the money she can smell from appearing on whymens talk shows on teebee, and maybe even a book deal and teebee special showing what a vick-tum she is. Hell,BET will probably pay her hundreds of thousands if she will appear that and say her husband is a racist that hates and fears blacks. To: A K A Stone (#1) Who leaks that they are going to divorce to the media. Is that a question? I'm sure your ex-old-lady did.
#5. To: Fred Mertz (#4) I just watched her divorce interview. Notice the smirk she makes at the end. That is body language for lying. Also I listened to her 911 tape. She honestly appears to be acting. When she keeps saying she is "really really" afraid. Also her line she used in her 911 tape is the same line she used in her divorce interview. You know the "I don't know what he is capable of". I'm not positive but I lean towards Zimmerman. You're a racist so of course you don't take Zimmermans side.
#6. To: Fred Mertz (#5) Oh here is where the video was. http://abcnews.go.com/US/george-zimmermans-wife-911-tape-scared/story?id=20203329
#7. To: Fred Mertz (#4) Is that a question? maroon! Do you know how to spell moron?
#8. To: A K A Stone (#7) Did you ever watch Bugs Bunny cartoons, you maroon?
#9. To: Fred Mertz (#8) Bugs bunny was a racist. ;)
#10. To: sneakypete (#3) She stood by her man when he was on trial. When her trial came up, he dumped her like a dirty rag. Can you blame her?
#11. To: Fred Mertz (#10) She stood by her man when he was on trial. When her trial came up, he dumped her like a dirty rag. How did he do that Bugs?
#12. To: Fred Mertz (#10) She stood by her man when he was on trial. When her trial came up, he dumped her like a dirty rag. I'm not sure that is exactly what happened, but I do seem to remember his trial came first, and then she was put on trial for perjury. I do know he is hosed if she gets pissed and plays the wronged woman because he will go and stay bankrupt from the lawsuits. Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012) #13. To: sneakypete (#12) There was ... no gun --- involved !

Commas - semicolons - question marks are for girlie boys ! #14. To: sneakypete (#12) George Zimmerman’s estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman called police Monday, saying that her husband had punched her father in the face and that he was threatening them with a gun. It is the most recent evidence of tensions between Shellie Zimmerman and her husband, who was acquitted two months ago in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin after a widely controversial murder trial. I am seeing different reports that question her account of the incident as she reported it on the 9-1-1 call, etc. I guess she could be lying again. There is doubt as to whether a weapon was even on the scene. Like I said, who needs to watch soap operas.
#15. To: Fred Mertz (#14) Like I said, who needs to watch soap operas. Ain't that the truth! Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012) #16. To: Fred Mertz (#14) hotair.com/greenroom/arch...rested-shellie-zimmerman/ Yesterday my Twitter timeline was all abuzz with excited liberals and gun grabbers chirping away with hyperbolic links and proclamations regarding George Zimmerman. The madman was threatening his wife with a gun, punching her father in the face and all manner of mayhem. George Zimmerman allegedly threatened family members with a gun! Zimmerman can’t keep his a** out of jail! Zimmerman arrested for threatening his wife with a gun! What a great story, eh? Great for anti-2nd Amendment folks who still feel a deep craving to punish George Zimmerman for something… anything … after their hearts were broken by a court of law.. And this certainly looked like the vindication they’d been hoping for. Except for one little problem: virtually nothing in those headlines was true. Deputy Police Chief Colin Morgan said officers did not recover a gun, and Bracknell said Shellie Zimmerman later dropped her claim that a gun was involved. “Domestic violence can’t be invoked because she has changed her story and says she didn’t see a firearm,” Bracknell said. The dispute “was between him and his wife and her father,” Morgan said. “There were some allegations that there had been an assault, but we could not confirm any of it.” But at least there was a gun, right? I mean, the guy always has a gun… right officers? “Nobody saw a gun,” said Officer Zach Hudson. “We did not find a gun on his body. We did not find a gun in the house. As of right now, there is no gun.” Actually, his lawyer is saying he did have it, but it was under his shirt and stayed there. The police may still search his truck. But if true, nobody saw it and the wife has recanted the claim. And Zimmerman was never “arrested.” He was placed in “investigative detention” for questioning while officials investigated the events at the house where the soon to be divorced couple were found. But this is why Shellie – not George – Zimmerman should be arrested. This is a major case of abuse of the 9-1-1 system and recklessly placing lives in danger. When police receive a call on the emergency line, they can respond in any number of ways depending on what the report entails. It’s just not as exciting if the caller says, George is over here yelling at me and my dad! And he wants to take the Revere Ware non-stick cooking set. (Which was a present I might add.) And he’s being a real jerk. Having a few cops in the family, I can tell you what happens when that call comes in. The cops roll their eyes, look at each other, shrug, and drive on over to toss a metaphorical bucket of cold water on the feuding couple until things calm down. But things are very, very different when this call comes in: George is over here threatening my father and me with a gun! Now the situation changes. The police are on edge. They call for backup. They show up in force, weapons drawn, wary to protect not only the innocent hostages, but their own lives. A misinterpreted gesture or movement later and people can wind up dead. This isn’t the kind of lie that you should just be able to say to a 9-1-1 operator because you’re angry with the guy you are divorcing and then wander off with a “my bad” later on. Shellie Zimmerman has already confessed to lying about this. Charges should be filed.
