Yesterday was President Bush's birthday. I think that it's appropriate to celebrate by reviewing some of his many "accomplishments". 1.) Bush created the first new entitlement program (drugs for the greedy geezer lobby) since the Great Society. Obama learned from Bush and pushed for the fiasco known as Obamacare.
2.) Bush teamed up with Ted Kennedy to create the largest federal intrusion into the classroom in history (the failed "No Child Left Behind" program). Obama learned from Bush and nationalized student loans.
3.) Bush signed the largest pork barrel spending program in the history of the world (the 2002 transportation bill, which included bridges to nowhere). Obama learned from Bush and created the "stimulus", which is now the largest pork barrel spending program in the history of the world.
4.) Bush destroyed all incentives for small companies to get big by going public with the Sarbanes-Oxley financial regulation law. Obama learned from Bush again and destroyed the home mortgage market with the Dodd-Frank financial regulation law.
5.) Bush pushed through laws (like the so-called "Patriot Act") that a future President (like Obama) could use to construct a police state. Obama has certainly learned from this too, as evidenced by the spying he is doing on just about all of us.
6.) Bush invaded a country (Iraq) that was no threat to us. The result is that a Sunni government that oppressed Islamists was overthrown and replaced by a Shi'ite government that is in cahoots with Iran in supporting Islamists. Oh yes, 4,000 Americans died senseless deaths. Obama has learned from this too as he plods through the Middle East causing chaos with every word he speaks.
Let's not even mention taxpayer bailouts for Wall Street Fat Cats...
Yes, happy birthday indeed President Bush. You ruined the country and set the stage for Obama. For this, you will be eternally in our thoughts...
