Video and Audio Title: Luther-BBC Crime show Luther is a series about a British homicide detective played by Idris Elba, and he owns this character like you wouldn't believe. He IS John Luther. John Luther is both gifted and troubled. Going through a divorce he doesn't want but his wife does, and troubled by some of the things he has done as a detective to solve cases but powerless to do anything about it because he is obsessed with being a detective and solving cases. It doesn't hurt that he is big, powerful, and scary-looking (he has been a professional heavyweight boxer),but if you think John Luther is scary, wait until you met redheaded hottie Alice Morgan (Ruth Wilson)in Episode 1 of season 1. John Luther is afraid of her,and doesn't mind admitting it. Hell, she scares me and I know she's just a actor playing a role on my tv. Flat out, this is one of the best crime shows that has ever been on tv. It only lasted two seasons in it's original run,but Elba won a Golden Globes award for his acting in this series. It was recently announced there will be a season 3 that will begin airing tonight (2 July) on BBC. Every episode aired to date is so good you have a hard time believing it. Not a bad actor, role,or story line in the bunch. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes to watch police dramas that replace car crashes and shoot-outs with suspense and mystery. You really can't beat BBC when it comes to stuff like this. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest #1. To: Fred Mertz, All, *Crime and Corruption*, *Movie and Book Review* (#0) (Edited) BTW,every episode from Seasons 1 and 2 can now be seen for free on Netflix and probably Amazon.com if you want to start at the beginning. Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012) #2. To: sneakypete (#0) Sounds interesting. But first I have to catch up with the last 2 seasons of Dexter. The last 2 seasons of True Blood, Finish up this season of Arrow. Watch last years and this years breaking bad. And some more stuff.
#3. To: A K A Stone (#2) I tried to watch Dexter, but the whole idea of a a metro-sexual warm and cuddly serial killer that women think is sexy just makes me want to puke. Ain't into vampires, but have to admit I got hooked on the Walking Dead. Never heard of Arrow, but Breaking Bad is one of the best shows that has ever been televised. To: sneakypete (#3) Ain't into vampires, but have to admit I got hooked on the Walking Dead. I love the walking dead. My wife and kids rented True blood several years ago. I couldn't get into the first season at first. It was weird when these vampires started going crazy licking the blood off of people. Kind of gross.
I gave it another try for the second season. It is a pretty good show. The vampires came out of the closet when "true blood" was invented. An artifical blood. Pretty good show. Arrow is also a great show imo. It is about a guy who is lost at sea and spends 5 years on this island. He was a rich self centered guy before he left. He learned some stuff on the island that the show slowly reveals. He is now a super hero who wants to get rid of the bad people and make his city good again.

To: sneakypete (#5) (Edited) The CW Network. Or if you had bitcomet you could just click here and download the entire first season by clicking download torrent. thepiratebay.sx/torrent/8...Arrow_-_Complete_Series_1
#7. To: sneakypete, A K A Stone (#1) Thanks for the ping, petey. I don't get BBC. I did watch DCI on PBS last night - most of it anyway. It was pretty good. I tried Under the Dome on CBS again last night. It has that look and feel of a network flop. I'll try it again next Monday night if I remember to. I gave up my satellite TV. Stone is supposed to help me figure out how to pirate signals once I get wired with cable. I saw Dexter at gf's house on Sunday, two episodes. It looks lame.
#8. To: Fred Mertz (#7) (Edited) Thanks for the ping, petey. I don't get BBC. If you have a internet connection you can get BBC. Not to mention HBO and Showtime. Get the ROKU 3 and you even get closed captioning capability for watching those BBC shows where they are speaking English for a English audience. Full price is $99.95,but they go on sale several times a year for $69.95 to $79.95. Once you have a ROKU (or other streaming player)you don't need a dish or a cable connection to watch premium teebee. You can download it from sites like http://Amazon.com or Netflix.com. All those shows like the Sopranoes and Deadwood (two of the greatest series ever aired) that you missed are there waiting for you to watch anytime you have the time. And you don't have to figure out anything or be reduced to watching shows on your computer monitor. I stream them on my ROKU through my internet connection and watch them on my 58 inch Samsung teebee. I even do it using a wireless connection and have ZERO worries about a virus by using services like http://Netflix.com and Amazon. If I can figure this out, anybody can figure out how to do it. I'm thinking seriously about dumping Dish and going back to a antenna for local broadcasts and using streaming video for everything else. I'd save 100 bucks a month. I saw Dexter at gf's house on Sunday, two episodes. It looks lame. It is lame. It's a chick flic. A metrosexual serial killer with a conscience that is sensitive and caring. You have to either be a woman or a homosexual to enjoy it,and it doesn't hurt to believe in multi-color unicorns, either. Makes me want to puke. Thanks for the tutorial, petey. I just printed it out for future reference. My gf has ROKU and uses it occasionally. That's the way to go - on demand. I use an antenna for free local TV and I get about 20 channels of stuff. When I had Dish I didn't pay extra for the local channels and used my antenna. If I can figure this out, anybody can figure out how to do it. I'm not a teebee junkie, but it sounds too easy and affordable to pass up. My birthday is soon and just maybe I'll open the wallet and treat myself. Thanks again petey.

Dish Network and Direct TV both have High Definition local channels as a part of their basic programming. To: sneakypete (#10) I bought an HDMI cable for 9.95 today. ROKU3 was 89.99 - I'm not ready to do it all in one day, but I'm taking baby steps in that direction. I'll tell why by PM.
#12. To: Fred Mertz (#11) I bought an HDMI cable for 9.95 today. Cool! I'm very happy with my Roku 3. I buy the gold-plated premium HDMI cables from amazon because of the free shipping. That way I only pay the $9.95. Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority?
