Poster Comment: If you have been living in a cave somewhere and never seen this series, you owe it to yourself. It may be the best dramatic series that has ever been on tv. It is like a clinical case study of "Unintended Consequences",where somebody starts out to do a bad thing for good reasons, and one thing just leads to another. If there is a single episode that ends without you sitting there saying "DAYUM! I didn't see THAT coming!",I must have missed it all three times I watched each episode. Yeah,it really is that good. If you are one of those serious souls that think tv is evil and beneath you, ignore this thread and go back to your humorous bland life. I'm not a TV junkie but this is special...all of the characters, except the wimmin ones rule. I don't like his wife much. His son doesn't miss a thing. And his attorney, Saul, what a trip. In series one, that guy he locked up in the basement and killed...was his body ever found? And his sister-in-law, the klepto, what a loser. Man oh man, you got me psyched for the finals.

BTW,have you ever seen a better portrayal of a lawyer? I agree about the two women. Oxygen thieves, both of them. Justified is another good one. Elmore Leonard wrote a short story that became the series, and he is a producer and writer. To: sneakypete (#4) That Jesse character is pretty good too. He always calls his partner Mr. White. I'll bet that body I mentioned earlier turns up at the end, even if it was mostly chemically destroyed.
#6. To: Fred Mertz, sneakypete (#5) Great show. I've seen it all except last season. Which I will have to catch up on.

Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012) #15. To: sneakypete (#14) Watched the reruns so far. Very interesting series. Very entertaining to watch Walt and Jesse "Forrest Gump" their way through events, while the Feds think there is some new diabiolical "player" in town:) Some of the one liners are classic and one dialogue from Walt should have won a Tony award if he had not. It was the part where he was being interviewed by the psychiatrist and he asked Walt what he was running away from. The answer Walt gave was classic: My wife is seven months pregnant with a baby we didn't intend. My fifteen-year old son has cerebral palsy. I am an extremely overqualified high school chemistry teacher. When I can work, I make $43,700 per year. I have watched all of my colleagues and friends surpass me in every way imaginable. And within eighteen months, I will be dead. And you ask why I ran?---Walter They way he delivered those lines was impelling. 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths.(Proverbs 3:5-6) #16. To: sneakypete (#14) This scene had me rolling because I remember how difficult it was interrogating insurgents/terrorists: Hank: Gomie, you want to do the honors? Gomez: Buenos tardes, Senor Salamanca. Entiendes el ingles? [Hector rings the bell] Hank: What does that mean? DEA Agent: That means "yes". "Yes" is a bell, "no" is no bell. Jesse: Oh c'mon, this is bullshit! I mean look at this dude, alright? He doesn't even know what planet he's living on! Gomez: Senor, are we on the planet Mars? Are we on the planet Saturn? Are we on the planet Earth? [Hector rings the bell] Senor, is today Friday? Is today Monday? Is today Tuesday? [Hector rings the bell] Hank: Okay, seems like he's all there. Let's go for it. Gomez: Senor, was this man at your house yesterday? [Hector does nothing] Senor, was this man at your house yesterday? Hank: This guy right here, he was at your house, right? Was he doing business with your nephew Tuco? Gomez: Senor, are you scared of this man? Hank: Nah, he's not scared. C'mon granddad, why don't you wanna help us out? [Hector turns to Hank and defecates] Gomez: Oh man... Hank: I guess that's a "no." 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths.(Proverbs 3:5-6) #17. To: redleghunter (#16) (Edited) Senor Salamanca. The actor that plays Senor Salamanca has him pegged as one hard-core MoFo. Anytime I see him in anything in the future I will flash back to him with his wheelchair and his bell. BRILLIANT writing to have him physically helpless from having a stroke. Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012) #18. To: sneakypete (#17) Yes indeed very good writing having him in a wheel chair with a bell. When it came time to peg Jesse you saw the finger trembling a bit and then pull away. It is that type of detail in the program that makes it so interesting. Just about every episode Jesse is getting his head beat in and Walt is "Forrest Gumping" his way through situations. Then you have the DEA and Hank thinking this "Heisenberg" character is a major calculated player. Too funny. I think the 15 year old son is a good character as well. He says little but picks up on so much. Like the time he walked in the kitchen and saw his mother's mud pack face mark on the fridge and just shrugged his shoulders, shook his head and moved on. 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths.(Proverbs 3:5-6) Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest |
