That was the point of my very first post. About 7 years ago I was pulled over for speeding. It was about 10pm at night. I had worked a 16+ hour day and I needed to catch a few hours sleep because I was hosting hundreds of people from all over the world the next day. My eyes were red, so the cops saw an opportunity and I had to go through the drill. My breathalyzer was fine, so I didn't automatically lose my license. But I got arrested anyway. After they processed me, I was immediately released because I wasn't drunk!. (By the way, the towing company who took my car got $220 from me -- it's part of the racket.) I did get charged for DUI and had to appear before a judge who sentenced me to pay court costs, a fine, and 25 hours of community service. For some reason you don't seem to understand that the laws of every state are different, which was the point of my original post. jwpegler posted on 2013-06-09 21:30:54 ET Reply Trace

If there is no breathalyzer test taken at the scene, then the cops can make up any bulls**t they want.

Why wouldn't you admit to not driving drunk? The point the poster was making is that the police can arrest you for anydamnthing they want,and evidence isn't required. You only need evidence if you go to trial. Once arrested,you face the choice of spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars beating the charges in court,or you can plea bargain and pay a relatively small fine and be done with it today. It's all part of a scam to bring cash into the local judicial district,it's happens all over the country,and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. And there is no shortage of parish priests that know a little something about drunk driving.

Our bishop went to alcohol rehab about a dozen years ago. The Baptists had a field day with that story. True, the justice system is all about control and money.
Of course they did. They are semi-famous for molesting the daughters and other sexual kinks,not drinking.
