Opinions/Editorials Title: The Kind of Country I Want To Live In I want to live in a just nation. A nation that knows right from wrong. We used to by in large have that kind of country. What happened? We knew right from wrong. Today so many don't or just do wrong. We are not the same people as our forefathers. We are more selfish. Our nation has become so sick that there are people who think killing their child is a virtue. We have people who wont work because they think someone else should provide for them. Where did these people learn this? My grandfather prided himself in the fact that he never had a government handout. Food stamps and free government money is now seen as a right by the degenerates of our society. There is nothing wrong with helping people. But taking from productive citizens by force to subsidize and provide for people who sit on their ass all day just isn't right. Who taught those kinds of values? I want to live in a country that isn't a bully. Who are we to try and tell the rest of the world what they should do. Lots of my fellow conservatives support this war on terror. Why my friends do you support an endless war that is part of what is bankrupting us? It isn't a just war. It isn't to defend us and our nation. It is an attempt to control others and make them bend to our will. They money we spent on theses bullshit wars sure could have bought a lot of oil. These wars aren't in the interests of ordinary Americans. They are in the interest of evil people who want to control the world and destroy liberty here in America. Why have so many of our businesses betrayed the American worker? Why do we buy so many foreign goods? Made in the U.S.A. is what we as a people should support. These companies that shipped their businesses over seas because they were greedy have really hurt our contry. How about we support businesses that make stuff here so that our kids can have a better future. You know when our people have work maybe so many will not be taking the easy steal from the taxpayers route. Companies that sell out or sold out the American worker should be punished with tariffs. If you want to go hire foreigners then pay a huge tax when you ship your goods back into this nation. It is stupid to do otherwise. We have to find a way to change that. So many of our people aren't paying attention to what is going on. They are good people but are busy and don't have a clue. Moms you should be raising your kids. Not some daycare. It is your job to give them values and teach them right from wrong. Fathers that is your job too. Why are so many of you leaving your kids to be fatherless? Kids need a mother and a father. They need them both. Fathers work harder so that the kids can have their mother at home. They deserve and need that. When did the breakdown happen? People pass down their values and traditions to their children. But for some reason that didn't happen at some point. I think we have let the television shape our values. It has raised many of us. Kids see all of the cheating, stealing, killing on the TV and that becomes their values if their parents aren't teaching them right from wrong. You have noticed that much of television has become a sewer haven't you? When someone works for a living they should be able to keep the fruits of their labor. Why do so many in our country not understand that? What I am trying to say is that I want to old America back. I want to live in a just society. Lets all take a look in the mirror and do what we can to make this a better place for ourselves and children. #6. To: A K A Stone (#4) "It is true that it would be nice if people made more money." Walmart counts on government to pick up the slack. It is a deliberate theft of taxpayer's money by underpaying their employees.

Samuel Rawlings Walton, heir to Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the world traditionally known for its support of Republican causes, has given a big donation in support of Barack Obama‘s candidacy. According to the Washington Times, the pro-Obama super-PAC Priorities USA raised $15 million in September, including $1 million from filmmaker Steven Spielberg and $300,000 from the Wal-Mart heir. Washington Examiner columnist Tim Carney writes that the latter donation may be “surprising” because the Walton family tends to support Republican causes, and because “the conventional wisdom is that megacorps like Wal-Mart are a Republican thing.” But Carney wisely points out the plethora of reasons why the Walton family would support the Obama presidency: “Wal-Mart endorsed the employer mandate in ObamaCare,” he notes. This fact stunned many when it was revealed, but as Carney writes, the health insurance mandate “gives Wal-Mart an advantage by crushing smaller competitors” who cannot absorb the costs as well as the giant corporation. “Wal-Mart has profited from Dodd-Frank,” Carney continues, noting that the 2010 bill “fixes the price Wal-Mart has to pay banks for processing debit cards,” benefiting the company’s bottom line enormously. “Wal-Mart has lobbied for and profits from higher minimum wage,” he continues, nodding to the fact that the seemingly benign policy helps put Wal- Mart’s smaller competitors out of business by raising their labor costs. Finally, Carney notes something I’ve mentioned before: Despite being seen as the paragon of a free market capitalist corporation, “Wal-Mart is a top beneficiary of eminent domain takings,” a policy with bipartisan support that has become the tell-tale symptom of Big Business in bed with Big Government — the opposite of a free, competitive market. “So, yes, Mitt Romney is cozy with Big Business and big donors,” Carney concludes. “But don’t pretend Obama is any different.” Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H.
