Hey Fred. You said you were part Indian. Tell us some interesting stories that you haven't shared before about what life was like when you were younger.

War News for Thursday, February 28, 2013 Reported security incidents #1: INSURGENTS today launched a rocket attack on the main coalition military base in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province. The heavily-fortified Camp Bastion, which accommodates up to 4,000 British, US, Danish and Estonian troops was targeted at about 6.30pm as darkness fell. Damage was caused but a spokesman for Taskforce Helmand said no-one had been injured. A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: “We can confirm that a rocket attack against Camp Bastion took place. No significant damage or casualties have been reported as a result of this incident.” OR A US-led base has been heavily damaged in a rocket attack in Afghanistan’s southern province of Helmand, reports say. We used to visit our grandmother's home on the reservation during the summer and attend the annual pow-wows when I was under ten. Then my mother died and that stopped. It was fun while it lasted. I think I have some costume items in the basement that my dad gave me when he was cleaning out his attic.
I remember lots of kids getting the measles during my childhood years. I was afflicted with a terminal case of smallcox, but I digress. I never had the mumps but I recall some family members and kids at school had it. Before I was born my dad had tuberculosis. He had and still has about a thirty inch scar across his back. He told us it was from an airplane propeller cut and we believed him. Yesterday I saw some headline of an outbreak of TB in California, I believe, mostly amongst homeless people. I was going to look up that disease but I didn't. I recall on all those medical forms for physicals and a checkup they asked if anyone in my family had TB and I had to check yes, being the honest injun that I am. I'm due for my semi-annual checkup this morning so maybe I'll ask the health care professionals about TB. Also, I remember when we moved to the country, a farm, we kids somehow got worms and our dad had to inspect us with a flashlight nightly after we got medicated. The End
No one at church is talking about him either. We had an insert in the bulletin when he announced - mostly quotes of his announcement. We talked about him at the tavern last night. Most of us didn't realize he wore those red shoes/slippers.
I had a bear claw rattle when I was young - for the pow-wows. I have a tomahawk memento from my Army time in Korea. In Kentucky they call them tommy-hawks. I received an Indian check in the mail last week for $36 and change - yee-haw!
