The Water Cooler Title: Goldi: We are SLAVES OF THE STATE #5. To: BobCeleste (#4) Slavery in Biblical times was far different than the slavery that evolved in the 1700s and beyond. During the Biblical times, a person was "a slave" - but it was a temporary situation. If one owed money to another, he became his "slave" and when the debt was worked off, he was again free. Similarly, a form of slavery was used by many who migrated here to the US...but then it was labled (sic) "indentured servant". That Indentured Servent (sic) earned his freedom by paying off the debt incurred that brought him over from the old country. Few slaves were PERMANENTLY enslaved in Biblical times. Today, according to the Biblical term, we are ALL be (sic) slaves, because the KING takes our wages from us (King = IRS/FEDGOV). THAT would translate - that just as the Jews were taken into Slavery by the Babylonians, the people of the USA were taken into slavery when the King went to war (WW2), and had to pay his war debt. But once that debt was paid, he did not free his slaves. That would be us. Slaves to the King....who will not free us. Slaves are OWNED. The FEDGOV treats us as PROPERTY. Tells us what we can and cannot do (Car ins/health ins), what we can have (FDA for meds) (regulations), and not have (gun grabbing). We are no longer FREE. We are SLAVES OF THE STATE. THE KING OWNS US....AND HAS NOT PROVIDED ANY WAY FOR US TO FREE OURSELVES...AS WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN BIBLICAL TIMES. We are also enslaved to the Bankers. Any credit cards, home mortgage, or car loans you have enslave you to pay them off. Only when you are debt free, are you free of the bankers enslavement. You are NEVER free of the King. And her entire post just went right over your head, huh, Fred? sheeeesh....
You are the ideal citizen of a politically corrupt state, such as the one we now have today, you're a gullible fool, incapable of separating truth from bullshit, the ignorance you display here borders on idiocy, even living in the age of vast information highways and real time technology at your fingertips, you still know nothing and talk nonsense, which is the only thing you seem to excel in. Today's media swarms around dull witted apathetic sheep like you, interviewing them and reporting their opinions seriously, but they do it without pointing out their imbecility. Your lack of comprehension and understanding of what is taking place in this nation today, in your lifetime, just goes to show how we got into this mess, because without mindless idiots such as yourself, they'd never get away with incrouching upon every aspect of our lives with their unconstitutional laws and mandated rules. Did it take decades of indifference and stupidity to get to where you are today, Fred, or did you just recently decide it hurts to much to think for yourself? SPIT! JMHO! (“You can't always control who walks into your life but, you can control which window you throw them out of.”) #2. To: Fred Mertz (#0) I hate to say this about that ship abandoning rat with closer allegiance to a foreign socialist nation than she does her own, but she's right. When .gov can tell you what you are allowed to have in your med cabinet, or in your refrigerator, and in both cases what you cannot have, that you MUST have health insurance, that you MUST have auto insurance, that you cannot exercise your inalienable rights except where .gov says you can, that you can be detained without charges, or legal representation, for as long as .gov wants, then you are not free. About being a debt slave to the bankers... I have no debt. :oP
"If men through fear, fraud or mistake, should in terms renounce and give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of reason and the great end of society, would absolutely vacate such renunciation; the right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of Man to alienate this gift, and voluntarily become a slave." Samuel Adams, Rights of the Colonists, 1772 #3. To: Fred Mertz (#0) (Edited)
Beyond the outrage banks are getting a glorified taxpayer subsidy when sequestration is about to happen, the real horror of this story is how creditors are banking on TBTF banks to be bailed out in the next financial crisis. Senator Elizabeth Warren questioned Ben Bernanke on this glorified subsidy. While some will claim the exchange is confrontational, I don't think so, it's more they are in a discussion and it's clear Bernanke thinks the TBTF banks should not receive such a low borrowing advantage. Refreshing to see Warren on the Senate banking committee raising up real issues with the Fed.
Lords of Disorder: Billions For Wall Street, Sacrifice For Everyone Else By Richard Eskow February 27, 2013 "Information Clearing House" - The President’s “sequester” offer slashes non-defense spending by $830 billion over the next ten years. That happens to be the precise amount we’re implicitly giving Wall Street’s biggest banks over the same time period. We’re collecting nothing from the big banks in return for our generosity. Instead we’re demanding sacrifice from the elderly, the disabled, the poor, the young, the middle class – pretty much everybody, in fact, who isn’t “too big to fail.” That’s injustice on a medieval scale, served up with a medieval caste-privilege flavor. The only difference is that nowadays injustices are presented with spreadsheets and PowerPoints, rather than with scrolls and trumpets and kingly proclamations. www.informationclearinghouse.info/article34115.htm
