The Republican Party truly is the conservative party in the country. Not because of any policy. But, rather due to their loyalty to failed politicians.
Lets look at the last election.
Mitt Romney is a great American, a successful entrepreneur, and an even better family man. But he was a really lousy candidate for President.
As a Presidential candidate, he was the worst of both worlds:
First, he was NOT a real policy conservative. Romney's political career was full of flip flops -- for and against abortion, for and against government run healthcare... for and against countless other things...
Second, unlike Reagan who grew up in modest circumstances, Romney was a trust fund baby who (like HW Bush) was pretty much clueless about the everyday things around him.
As a result, the Obama team was able to bash him on both fronts -- he's an evil, rich conservative, but he's not conservative all since he doesn't believe in anything.
Yet, I see posts on this site almost deifying Romney, which is what GOP voters tend to do.
GOP voters loved HW Bush even though he was no Reagan.
They loved Dole even though he was no conservative.
They loved Dubya even though he spent money like a drunken sailor.
Isnt time that the GOP actually stand for something, other than being loyal to the guy who lost the last primary election?
