Federal law prohibits the admission of aliens to this country who are “likely at any time to become a public charge.” This is one of many statutes that the scofflaw Obama administration brazenly flouts. Rather than ensuring that immigrants will not become liabilities to the public purse, the Obama administration explicitly lures them to the U.S. with promises of lavish welfare benefits–a policy that is both illegal and perverse. This web site promoting federal welfare benefits, now the largest item in the federal budget, mirrors information that is included in packets given to new arrivals in the U.S.: I can only imagine the disgust with which my immigrant ancestors would react to Obama’s “Government Benefits” brochure. Meanwhile, Senators like Jeff Sessions are trying to get information about the Obama administration’s illegal promotion of welfare benefits, but are being stonewalled–the Obama administration’s invariable response to requests for transparency. Earlier today, Sessions released this statement: The Department of Homeland Security’s effort to enroll immigrants in welfare raises serious legal, social, and financial issues. Federal law prohibits the granting of visas to those likely to be welfare reliant, yet DHS actively promotes these benefits to millions of new arrivals every year. DHS knows this, which is perhaps why they refuse to comply with an oversight request on this very issue from the Ranking Members of four Senate Committees. It is a long-held principle of immigration that those seeking a life in America are expected to be able to care for themselves financially and contribute to the financial health of the nation. The Administration’s actions show this principle is no longer in effect. Encouraging self-sufficiency must be a bedrock for our immigration policy, with the goal of reducing poverty, strengthening the family, and promoting our economic values. But Administration officials and their policies are working actively against this goal. At the same time, those who would be self-sufficient are denied or delayed in their admittance. This is of course a financial issue as well. America spends enough each year on welfare to equal $60,000 for every household beneath the poverty line. Welfare is now the largest item in the budget and is projected to grow another 30 percent in the next four years. We should not pursue an immigration policy that places even more strain on the funding for domestic programs. DHS should remove any sections of its website, and any portions of its materials for new arrivals, that promote or encourage welfare reliance. And DHS should respond, at once, to the outstanding oversight request on its failure to enforce legally mandated welfare restrictions. The American people deserve to know the hidden truth about how our immigration system is being run. For the first time in my lifetime, we have a federal government that feels no compunction about disregarding its own laws. If we had an independent press, the Obama administration’s lawbreaking might well give rise to public indignation.

I was looking at the TV schedule and saw "My Man Godfrey" will be on at 7:00. Godfrey, portrayed by William Powell, is referred to as one of the "forgotten men", the phrase coming from a fireside chat by FDR. I was curious about that term "the forgotten man" and how it was used in this propaganda movie, so I searched around the internet and discovered an entirely different "forgotten man". PokerFace had agreed to play at the Lincoln Memorial and Randy Stalls had agreed to come and sing his great patriotic song "I Believe in the Children" and we had began to line up speakers, and I was literally HOUNDING Limbaugh to publicize the Event to his 20 Million listeners!! I was seriously JAZZED and my FReepin' seemed to be well- received on-Forum...in my mind, we were gonna re-open the Issue of The Appropriateness of a known Felon, Rapist, and Traitor completing his Term in the Oval Office...and just in time for the Presidential Campaign!!! Well...then the weirdness started happening. I've got the actual thread buried in my Stack of Stuff here somewhere, but I remember prodding on my fellow FReepers with the statement, "SHEEEESH...you put out a call for Patriots and everybody runs fer the tall grass!!" Soon after, FR went down!! Well, it was late at night and--in all the excitement--I hadn't slept much for a few days, so I cozied up in my La-Z-Boy and watched a little mindless TeeVee until I fell asleep for a few hours, ignorantly leaving my computer on. When I awoke, my computer had been hacked. And not just a little hacking, but totally FRIED!! I've got some friends in the local police department and they traced the hacker through a few dummy email addresses, but the culprit was never caught, and that computer has never worked since (although I do still have it and most of my hard drive was salvageable). Well...for awhile, I FReeped from various Kinko's locations and racked up hundreds of dollars worth of bills there and kept pushing for the 8/12/00 Patriot's March Fer Justice, but some other weird coincidences (I'll save those for another day) kept happening and the Missuz started to freak more than a bit, and the March--while held--never reached anywhere near its potential. Meanwhile, I was without a computer of my own for almost two months and my QUEST FER RE- IMPEACHMENT was derailed for the time being. In closing, let me just point out how close I believe we were...as you know, since the Gulf War, I've listened to Rush Limbaugh religiously for anywhere from 20-30 hours per week (I tape his show and re-listen to it when I can).
