Since Sandy hit you haven't been around and I know some regions of Ohio got smacked too.
Roof job been working on. This roof was the most rotten roof I've seen in a while. Some older people live there. There were several inches of leaves on the roof. Under the roof an inch of dirt from decomposing leaves. Rotten valleys. It had to have been this way for years. You can see in the house from several of the holes. There are buckets to catch water in the house. Poor old folks their kids are just helping them.
I'll be glad when the job is over so I can get back to some easier type work.
I cringe every time I happen to notice a roof covered with pine straw or leaves.
If you have trees growing close enough to your house to damage it if they topple over or close enough for wind-blown leaves or pine straw to start collecting there, cut them down NOW.
A wise man once said,"If you wish to live your life as a good man,try to be the man your dog thinks you are."
I've a roof that needs replacing but putting it off until next spring. Not in that bad a shape but it has to be done.
Didn't know if you within the areas that are out of power. All of Michigan is back up and running. Never did go out around here but the lack of leaves on our trees helped.
