A new poll shows Mitt Romney's vow to cut federal funding for PBS isn't helping him.
According to the Washington Times/Zogby survey released Tuesday, 55 percent of likely voters support federal money for public television and consider it a "worthwhile" use of such funds.
Even a quarter of voters who plan to vote for Romney said they would like to see the money keep flowing. Thirty-five percent of the 800 likely voters surveyed in the poll opposed federal funding for PBS.
The GOP presidential candidate ruffled some feathers last week when he vowed to cut federal money for PBS during the first presidential debate in Denver. Within minutes, #BigBird was one of the fastest rising trends on Twitter and Sesame Street's yellow-feathered friend told Saturday Night Live's Seth Myers he received more than 1 million tweets of support that night.
