A group called "Jews and Christians Together," which backed Rick Santorum in the Republican primary, is sending a memo to Republican National Convention delegates urging them not to vote for Mitt Romney at the convention, even if they're bound to him. The nine-page memo casts Romney's nomination in the direst terms. A press release from the group reads: The core of a hard-hitting new 80,000 word book and incubating Tampa The memo doesn't specify who Romney should be replaced with. A core of Ron Paul supporters had been the only organized Republican opposition to accepting Romney as the nominee, but Paul campaign manager Jesse Benton told BuzzFeed that the memo had nothing to do with them, calling it "disgusting and highly inappropriate." Instead, it's a brainchild of Steve Baldwin, the former chief of the Council for National Policy, a low-profile, well-connected conservative group. Baldwin said the memo was sent out to 20,000 people in politics in media, as well as RNC delegates. "We’re just saying that Romney has so many liabilities that will be exploited by Obama," Baldwin said in a phone interview. "I don’t have a problems with Mormons personally, but it is a liability issue" among evangelical voters, Baldwin said. Baldwin said that the people who put together the memo are supporters of different primary candidates, including Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich (Baldwin is a Bachmann supporter). Jews and Christians Together briefly made the news in March for putting out robocalls in Ohio on behalf of Rick Santorum, then still a presidential candidate. The call accused Romney of supporting "open homosexuality in the military, the appointment of homosexual judges, and the ENDA law, making it illegal to fire a man who wears a dress and high heels to work, even if he's your kid's teacher." The memo is accompanied by an "expanded" 100-page version, available on Amazon. It devotes a lot of space to attacking Romney's Mormonism as "hostile to American monotheism and hetero-monogamy" (there's even a picture of Brigham Young in drag).
"DUMP ROMNEY" contends that no delegates are actually "bound" by law or GOP
rules to vote for Romney and that, to win the White House and toss-up
Senate seats, delegates must exercise their right to "conscientiously
abstain" from Romney on the crucial first ballot, aiming for a
stronger ticket leader in subsequent convention voting rounds.

He didn't have to sign those hundreds of gay marriage licenses but he did. It's highly unlikely that either Mitt OR Ron Paul will ever be president. Pity about Ron, but that's the way it is. Is there even a chance that your vote will swing an electoral delegate Mitt's way?

To bury this lead, to blind ourselves to the Elephant in the Temple, to pretend that this would-be emperor is actually clothed – or rather, unclothed by mystical Mormon undergarments – is a Republican death wish: Watch this.41
But, what if there’s really a way out? What if faithful Jews, Christians and Tampa’s totally-unbound GOP delegates were to grasp, before it’s too late, that we have the right (and no other responsible choice but) to dump Romney?

Why did Romney bring same-sex marriage to the USA via Massachusetts? 48 Why did does Romney, with Obama, wish to “homogenize” and transgenderize the US military and US work places? Why does he so aggressively support the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) Agenda? 49 Maybe this: From the start, Mormonism has been hostile to American hetero-monogamy: Systemic adultery, polygamy, polyandry, “buggery” (homosexuality), “spiritual wifery,” celestial sex and terrestrial confusion.

And yet – even if you’re part of the Utah or Mass delegations – perhaps you too feel something’s just not right about our cover photo, about the amoral direction in which both Obama and Romney wish to take our nation? Maybe you recognize that they’re both AWOL on issues of limited government and sexual sanity?
This document’s cover pic is like a Rorschach ink-blot test: If you see something good (or irrelevant, or inconsequential or of no matter because it’s “not about the economy”)… then you and your progeny win either way, with Obama or Romney, when it comes to our sinking culture. On the other hand, if you see something troubling in that ink-blot, if you see something that’s just not right, then you may wish to read on.
Perhaps you’re also so fear-filled about the White House “devil you know” that you’re hot to jump into bed with the “devil you don’t”? Well, if you’re really want to settle, like some naive child bride or hopeless Salt Lake spinster, for the embrace of a “lesser evil” sure-loser, then we’d suggest you skip everything that follows.
If you’re a conservative defeatist, cowed Christian, self-loathing Jew, religious syncretist, Country Club multiculturalist or access-hungry accomodationist who’s short on vision and attention span… you might as well just quit this text now. Go to Orlando, go entertain yourself, go do something else… because this document is written for others.
But, if you’re a thoughtful Tampa delegate or thought leader, you already know that the original purpose of major party conventions was to nominate the best possible candidate, even if he or she requires drafting.
Were frontrunners simply entitled to the nomination, a convention wouldn’t be necessary; some RNC bureaucrat would just tally up all the votes from the 50 states.
Why should faithful American Jews, Christians and Tampa’s totally-unbound GOP delegates “DUMP ROMinee”?
Because we need a game-changer.
Because we can’t carry the swing states by nominating the Bishop of a kooky, polytheist sex cult.
Because we need someone better, or we’ll lose.
