The Water Cooler Title: If anyone wants their IP info purged let me know I will purge anyones ip info if they want it purged. It will build up again over time but the past ip numbers will be deleted. Just ask. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Please do...thanks... I'll believe that a corporation is a person 1 second after Texas executes one... #2. To: A K A Stone (#0) Uh, yeah. That way you won't be so tempted to be "helpful" to a bunch of thugs demanding fake "justice". Thanks.
#3. To: war, liberator (#1) It's gone. Purging recorded IP addr info.
#4. To: A K A Stone (#3) Thank you.
#5. To: A K A Stone (#0) I will purge anyones ip info if they want it purged. It will build up again over time but the past ip numbers will be deleted. Just ask. Yes..thank you! ;) "A friend will calm you down when you are angry, but a best friend will skip beside you with a baseball bat singing, "someone's gonna get it" #6. To: A K A Stone (#0) How does this work?
#7. To: war (#1) Please do...thanks... Lol..smart move squirrel.
#8. To: Thunderbird (#7) (Edited) Thanks, Boofer. Just curious if you *think* that calling someone "squirrel" is supposed to be some sort of invective. It makes you appear If the answer is *yes*...why? It's actually a fairly effeminate reflection on the user...and certainly has a lisp associative to it... I'll believe that a corporation is a person 1 second after Texas executes one... #9. To: Serenissima Venezia, A K A Stone (#6) How does this work? Most likely as Neil outlined above, you're granted "Trusted" status in the software settings, so it's not just a one time purge but a continuous process. Is this correct Stone? Please add me to the elite "Trusted" group.
Obama's watch stopped on 24 May 2008, but he's been too busy smoking crack to notice. #10. To: A K A Stone (#0) Stone, could you please provide a link to the article that prompted this? I seem to have lost it. Thanks in advance! Regards, Stoner
#11. To: hondo68, AKA Stone (#9) Most likely as Neil outlined above, you're granted "Trusted" status in the software settings, so it's not just a one time purge but a continuous process. Sounds like a great feature. How do we get added?
#12. To: Serenissima Venezia, AKA Stone, *The Two Parties ARE the Same* (#11) How do we get added? We may have to pledge to support and vote for 3M (Massachusetts Marxist Mitt) to gain Trusted status?
Obama's watch stopped on 24 May 2008, but he's been too busy smoking crack to notice. #13. To: hondo68 (#12) We may have to pledge to support and vote for 3M (Massachusetts Marxist Mitt) to gain Trusted status? I'll vote for him over the known Marxist and America-hater Obama. UNLESS he takes back his anti-amnesty statements or picks a pro-amnesty running mate. I refused to vote for Juan McAmnesty last time around as well. We each have our lines in the sand.
#14. To: hondo68, A K A Stone (#9) Please add me to the elite "Trusted" group. You're no more elitey or Trusty than I am! I hope you all realize that if anyone here is a target of NSA/FBI, the feds will be recording and storing every packet in and out of here. They are tied directly to every internet backbone as we've known since the Bush era. Purging the logs may provide limited protection against subpoenas in a lawsuit, like a libel lawsuit. But no one is posting their real identity here. If they did, I'd recommend that Stone ban them. There is a rising issue over online libel and making everyone stay anonymous is the best protection. Given that Stone is allowing Google (and others) to spider-search this site to add the results to their search engine, that means it's all available for a number of years in the Google cache and Coral and others. If we were federal targets in a serious investigation, either Stone and/or Neil would be issued national security letters to force them to allow access and to never tell anyone, including the target or to complain to any court about it (since that might tip off the target). And being located overseas doesn't make you safe either unless you're in a major hostile nation that won't extradite (Russia, China, etc.). But most any country would sell you out or they have an extradition treaty. You simply cannot be too paranoid online any more. Sad really. If you're thinking this all sounds a bit too much like a world government that is also a totally wired Big Brother, well...yep.
#15. To: Serenissima Venezia (#13) UNLESS he takes back his anti-amnesty statements or picks a pro-amnesty running mate. Party honchos are pressuring Mitty to cave in on illegals. I expect he's a squishy invertebrate but you never know. Mittster may go bold and have more to him than we think. We always knew what the Stain was. Weak, prone to stab us in the back for a few words of praise in the WaPo/NYSlimes or a pat on the rump from Timmy Russert on MTP. Then the libs savaged him in 2008.
I refused to vote for Juan McAmnesty last time around as well. We each have our lines in the sand. Every conservative worth a damn loathes the Stain. And Lady Lindsey, his Mini-Me sockpuppet.
#16. To: TooConservative, hondo68, A K A Stone (#14) You're no more elitey or Trusty than I am! LMAO! Man, now that's funny! Stone, you don't need to delete mine. I use so many they'd have to dig for a month to buy a vowel. ;o) Besides, it would be kind of fun pulling out a copy of the Constitution in court.
"If men through fear, fraud or mistake, should in terms renounce and give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of reason and the great end of society, would absolutely vacate such renunciation; the right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of Man to alienate this gift, and voluntarily become a slave." Samuel Adams, Rights of the Colonists, 1772 #17. To: TooConservative (#15) Weak, prone to stab us in the back for a few words of praise in the WaPo/NYSlimes or a pat on the rump from Timmy Russert on MTP. LOL! Or a tap of the foot from Larry Craig.

Samuel Adams, Rights of the Colonists, 1772 #18. To: TooConservative, A K A Stone (#14) a world government that is also a totally wired Big Brother, well...yep. Kind of like a NWO CT, except it's real. They certainly have the infrastructure for it in place, anyway. All kidding aside, Stone is doing what he can and I applaud him for that.
Obama's watch stopped on 24 May 2008, but he's been too busy smoking crack to notice. #19. To: We The People (#17) Even Larry Craig has a few standards, I'd hope.
#20. To: A K A Stone (#0) I will purge anyones ip info if they want it purged. Which one should I choose? I only have ten thousand+ to choose from. ROTFL
#21. To: hondo68, A K A Stone, Pinguinite (#18) All kidding aside, Stone is doing what he can and I applaud him for that. Oh, I appreciate the effort and the offer. My point was we shouldn't feel that shields any of us if there is serious intent to monitor our traffic. Another point to keep in mind is that the forum mails are stored encrypted on the server but sent and received as clear text, as subject to interception as any other post. To be (somewhat) secure, it would have to be HTTPS with a valid SSL certificate. Again, not a complaint, just a warning. The amount of encryption it has keeps Neil and Stone from reading it. There are ways Neil could intercept or circumvent but I can't imagine he'd bother; most of us have profoundly pedestrian lives, I'd guess. Every black box has at least one key, usually more. I hadn't bothered to look around yet but has anyone ever edited their personal webpages here? Coming from LP, most of us don't even think about that feature since Goldi didn't enable it over there.
#22. To: TooConservative (#21) Your home page is boring, boring.
#23. To: buckeroo (#20) Your home page is a hoot!
#24. To: Fred Mertz (#23) I built it about the time I was invited here. I stand by my opinions to this day, Fred.
#25. To: buckeroo (#24) I built it about the time I was invited here. I stand by my opinions to this day, Fred. I read it too. A few times over the years. You have the sites best home page.
#26. To: A K A Stone (#25) Your home page sucks.
#27. To: A K A Stone (#25) If you or anyone wants to learn HTML skills (not that it matters) you can ask me to help although sometimes I am far distanced from forums. My skills are not expert in HTML, but I can carry simple points without much chit-chat.
#28. To: buckeroo (#27) I noticed that Jeff Head got an account on TBL - trueblueliberty dot com. Even sneakypete was seen posting there. And that a-hole Arnefufkin is there as are party hacks sinkspur and quidnunc aka squidnuts (thanks deb for that nickname!)
#29. To: buckeroo, mininggold (#27) (Edited) Where the heck is mininggold these days? She has an account there but doesn't post hardly at all.
#30. To: Fred Mertz (#28) I noticed that Jeff Head got an account on TBL - trueblueliberty dot com. There goes another good poster in favor of a POS named Bob_J. That Bob_J POS just can't quit rambling on about Jim. Bob_J is akin to a talkie "yukon" on LP. I shall go back to attack the POS on TBL as I have time.
#31. To: Fred Mertz (#28) Arnefufkin is there as are party hacks sinkspur and quidnunc aka squidnuts (thanks deb for that nickname!) Were they bounced from FR?
#32. To: harrowup (#31) (Edited) I don't visit FR so I couldn't tell you. I went over the hill in 2004 thanks to Bush Cheney. I finally saw the light. Edit: To clarify, I finally realized we have a One Party system.
#33. To: Fred Mertz (#22) Your home page is boring, boring. Huh? I've got readers (you, obviously) and I've never even posted anything on it. You're craving the secrets of my homepage's success.
#34. To: TooConservative (#15) I expect he's a squishy invertebrate but you never know. LOL! You have a way with words.
#35. To: TooConservative, Fred Mertz (#33) You're craving the secrets of my homepage's success. Since yours has attracted so much attention, I am using it as a blueprint for my own.
#36. To: TooConservative (#14) I hope you all realize that if anyone here is a target of NSA/FBI, the feds will be recording and storing every packet in and out of here. They are tied directly to every internet backbone as we've known since the Bush era. Yes, that seems to be the case, which is the reason why the web site (all websites, actually) be encrypted. The feds then would still be able to see where info is coming from/going to, but they won't know what the information is.
Given that Stone is allowing Google (and others) to spider-search this site to add the results to their search engine, that means it's all available for a number of years in the Google cache and Coral and others. All that's available is the postings and the screen name that posted it, which is available directly from this site anyway (unless/until the site is taken down). Not the IP addr info of the poster. That info isn't available to google, as you know.
If we were federal targets in a serious investigation, either Stone and/or Neil would be issued national security letters to force them to allow access and to never tell anyone, including the target or to complain to any court about it (since that might tip off the target). Sure, but if I don't have the info they seek, then there's nothing I/they can do with their letters. And these letters cannot compel me to modify something to gain information, as that would basically be a recruitment into their spy ranks. They can only use them to try to gain information I already have. If IP information is not in my possession, then I won't have info to give them and it's end of story. And without a law requiring me or Stone to retain that information, there's nothing they can (legally) do to me or him. This software offers a "Trusted" status that site owners are free to make use of just like every other feature. If it's illegal, show me the law. (And the jurisdiction to enforce it).
#37. To: We The People (#16) Besides, it would be kind of fun pulling out a copy of the Constitution in court. Don't they search you for that kind of contraband before they let you in?
#38. To: Fred Mertz (#28) And that a-hole Arnefufkin is there... I'm assuming it's the same guy from the old days at FR, pre-Bush. One day I was posting along and he came totally unglued over some drivel I had posted, something completely inconsequential to anyone as far as I can recall. He started swearing at me like a drunken sailor, going on about how he was going to track me down through the internet, hunt me down and kill me, I was a dead man, and so on. He said it a bunch of times. Total psycho. I was fairly new to online forums and wasn't sure what to say. Apparently, someone tipped Robinson off because all at once he came zooming in and I never saw Arne Fufkin at FR again. I got the impression he had done that to others.
#39. To: Pinguinite (#36) And without a law requiring me or Stone to retain that information, there's nothing they can (legally) do to me or him. This software offers a "Trusted" status that site owners are free to make use of just like every other feature. If it's illegal, show me the law. Good answers. Anyway, it's been a good discussion of what our beloved masters are up to, what they're capable of, and why we should keep in mind that nothing on the web is anonymous. Nothing.
#40. To: Serenissima Venezia (#35) Since yours has attracted so much attention, I am using it as a blueprint for my own. I've copyrighted mine. My lawyer will be sending you a Cease & Desist order within the week. LOL.
#41. To: buckeroo, liberator (#30) There goes another good poster in favor of a POS named Bob_J. Namedropper. You're just trying to bait liberator or I into posting a certain YouTube vid... You know, when he surfaced there, we went over and showed it to him. He seemed kind of flattered. I suppose he's still supporting Da Mittster, like he was when he got the Zot.
