Corrupt Government Title: Does the US Government Give a SHIT About Memorial Day? There is a purpose about these Memorial Day ceremonies and it isn't about having a dawg or burger and beer on the BBQ outback. Most folks realize that truth and just a few photos complete the idea:
Do you think the SHITS that run this country care about what they performed to destroy it? A select few do but most of them don't.... They only get involved or spout platitudes on Memorial Day when they think it will help them get re-elected.... To: buckeroo (#0) Does the US Government Give a SHIT About Memorial Day? Unfortunately, many government folks look at it as a three-day (paid) weekend with some taking vacation time to make it four days or longer. I'm certain a good number of folks care deeply about Memorial Day and what it represents. I know my neighbor takes it seriously. He's a retired GI with Vietnam combat experience and earned a Silver Star - his unit went through hell.

They remember the dead in a candle lighting ceremony and they meet for fun and camaraderie and remembrance. I took a WW2 war widow to her husband's unit - 4th Armored Division- conventions over the past 8 years. They finally canceled it this past year due to the small numbers of surviving members. She'll be 93 this fall. She attended every year for 30+ years. The group had strong bonds and it was the highlight of the year for many of them in their golden years. I have a great deal of respect for the vets. I also understand your point of view.
