Iran’s Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi has announced progress in the development and manufacture of an indigenous version of the advanced Russian S-300 air defense missile system, the Fars news agency reported on Tuesday. "The production of an alternative missile system is underway,” he said, adding that the work “has yielded good results.” Iranian military officials earlier said the missile system, called Bavar (Belief) 373, is even more powerful and more advanced than the Russian S-300. The $800-million contract to supply Iran with the missile system was signed in late 2007. Russia was to deliver five S-300PMU-1 battalions to Tehran. However, on September 22, 2010, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree terminating the contract in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1929, which bans supply to Iran of conventional weapons including missiles and missile systems, tanks, attack helicopters, warplanes and ships.

Godspeed? Really? Do you know anything at all of the origins and use of the phrase?
Indeed I do and wish them the best. This news is actually old by about 2 years. The Russians abandoned delivery of Russian made 300's but did provide the spec's. Timing is about right for this announcement, thinking about it now.
Never swear "allegiance" to anything other than the 'right to change your mind'! Obviously you don't. Unless the Iranians are Christians and you consider them to be your spiritual brethren? Is that it? Are the Iranians your brethren? And godspeed is a farewell only allowed to be exchanged among Christian brethren. Like many libs, you think you have a deeply penetrating knowledge of the Bible and yet you actually know almost nothing of its plain text. I suppose in the Lefty circles you run in, you actually are the most knowledgeable. Which isn't saying much.
Wrong in this instance. I know damn little about the fable you call your 'bible' and I invite you find a thread where I discuss the bible or religion for that matter.

Historically there were thousands of Christians in Iran and many more thousands all over the Middle East until the Fundies started allying themselves with the state of Israel. Thereby giving all of Christianity a bad name. They need to blame themselves for Christianity's demise and persecution in that area.

Well, he was either pretending or being honest in the thread below. I believe he was pretending because I simply cannot fathom how someone could be a Paul supporter and an Obama supporter at the same time, with the two being polar opposites.
