Even complete trolls like the Canary Posse shouldn't be given this kind of billing on your site. It drags down everything else your site is and can be. It's too bad that you don't have a Biker Bar here like LP used to have. The way LP is now, Biker Bar is a bad idea there too. Biker Bar, in the old days at LP, never showed up in your main news sidebar. If you wanted to look at food fights or cross-forum squabbles, you had to go into the Biker Bar to look for them. And they didn't show up on the main forum's sidebar(s). They did still get some exposure in the Latest Comments list anyway. This kind of thing can take over your forum, making it more food fight than news site. LP has the same problem. 4um is overall more peaceful because you don't see much of it there, I have to assume christine put her foot down because 4um folk aren't any more polite than the rest of the forums. It comes down to moderator policy, what they'll put up with, where they want their site to go. I kind of doubt that Vicomte appreciates being discussed behind his back like this. No one would. Why was any thread over something they posted about at LP any business of the posters of LF? Not only that, but since LF is Google-indexed, it means that search results are being returned for their forum names here at LF. They posted at an anonymous forum (LP) but due to this reposting here at LF, now they're exposed to all the web's biggest snoops. It's an invasion of both liberator's and Vicomte's privacy at LP. If LP and LF are so repulsive to you, TC, maybe freedom4m, with it's strictly enforced rules would suit you better, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out! JMHO! Actually, 4um is rather lightly moderated overall in my experience. I posted a few real barnburner threads there but never got banned or warned. christine is very much a free speech gal. So is Goldi. These forums do carry free speech a bit far though. Free speech isn't taking squabbles from another forum and trying to start fights over here. That's just trollish. IMO, all three forums need considerably more moderation, not less. Of the three, christine seems to succeed the most at striking a good balance. In large part, this is because 4um's posters themselves don't want to delve into LP-originated food fights and personality conflicts and gossip about them.
