Changing fuel filters can help ! I had the best running nissan pick up truck ! My nephew ran it out of fuel ! I had to change the injector plugs ! Had to buy rebuilt because the new were too expensive ! On my car I only buy premium (( more HP - miles )) hoping it will help ! The truck was geared too low so I put taller tires on the back ! It increased the mileage by over 10 % ! The speed - mileage would gauge lower so potentially I could get a speeding ticket if I wasn't carefull ! I was going to do the same to my Impala until it dawned on me it was a front wheel drive !

Why do you say that? There are more additives in premium which end up in your catalytic converter. You're more likely to get dirty and contaminated fuel because a lot less premium is sold, so it lays around longer picking up water, rust, and dirt. Unless you live if Beverly Hills, that fuel could have been sitting there for months. Boris's statement that you get more horsepower and mileage from premium is BS. More additives = less gas. What say you, Pete?

What say you, Pete? At one time not so long ago you COULD get better gas milege running premium. I had a Nissan 310 with a 5-speed in 1984 what would get 36 MPG running regular and 45 MPG running premium. This was BEFORE computer controlled timing and fuel delivery,though. I do run premium in my V-6 VW Passat because the owners manual requires it,but this is a computer controlled car to the point where you had damn well better follow their "suggestions" or be sorry. It has 280 hp and will rev to 7500 rpm before you can blink. My 2008 HHR had a 4 cylinder engine and regular was recommended,so that's what I ran. The computer code was written to obtain peak performance using regular.
