There have been far more deportations since President Obama has taken office than we ever saw with the Bush Administration. He's also put more boots on the border, and none of that is going to help him in getting Latinos and latinas to vote for him. We are a nation of immigrants, so naturally a sound amnesty policy needs to pass Congress and be signed into law. Too many good, hard working people have come here to live and work, and done so in a law biding manner to not give them a route toward citizenship. All draconian anti-immirant laws have ever done is hurt a state's economy. Just look at Georgia and it's law that saw the farmers have to plow under their crops because though they tried, they could not get native born citizens to come out and do the work to help harvest their crops. Understand too, I don't support these changes, and I criticize him for them. I am in fact quite a bit to the left of President Obama in some things. You can be temperamental about this too, but you are not being fair not to give him some of what I feel is the blame for these policies.
